Ok so.... when i was a visitor i got this little feather and put it as a hat, but now that im a hawker i cant put on a hat because it says i dont have a hat but i still have the feather in my head, what the hell? i beleive this is a bug

I think you placed your feather in the Costume tab of your inventory.
If you look at the top of your inventory window, there should be three tabs reading Costume, Avatar and PAT.
The costume tab is only for clothing looks (any clothes worn in this tab do not have any effect on your character's stats, such as defense, attack power etc...). If you click on this tab you might find your little green feather there.

But what you really want to do is go to your Avatar tab and equip your new hawker hat. This will mean that although your character looks as of it is wearing a feather on the outside, your character is in fact equipped with your hawker hat and affected only by the stats of this hat.

Hope I haven't been too confusing and will solve your problem
