Agree with you on having too many maps. There simply aren't enough players to fill them, only a couple of maps are used like DoD, and you can hear your voice echo across the entire map of Forest of Wandering (or any other abandoned maps), and the only way to somewhat populate it is to temporarily drag some people out of Junon Polis.

it won't help

take Draconis as example - I'm not saying it's bad but it didn't change things at all - it was too early to add it - some players got to max level in only few days and same "bad" things that were happening on Leonis that cause "reset" ideas are happening there too

I think leveling is way too fast. 10-15 levels a map is enough. Then you should have to change to a different map. And, IMHO, leveling each map should take at least a week for an average player to accomplish. You think thats too long? Don't you remeber the great moments from the past you had with your party members when leveling? Slower leveling gives more chance for moments worth remembering.

A level in a MMOPRG is meaningless anyway in real life. So your path getting there should be the aim. A lot of players playing this game are too stupid to realize that and rush through the game. They should be forced for their luck

But it is hopeless anyway. Too much damage has been done, with all that refine updates and all other stuff that play along this. I still remember when i had my first OWand(5) and then the day when i put a T3 in it. I had to farm countless things to get it to 5 first and then had to farm so much crap for the T3. That was great! But what does that stuff mean today? Nothing. Thats why the game is failing so hard atm.

I don't get why people keep bringing up the old days when it comes to the game being "harder" sure it's easier to get money and high level characters, but people can enjoy the game however they want to. I started a new character on draconis, and I really don't see much of a difference in map progression other than you get through each map quicker. You have to remember the system we had in Pre-evo was broken and unfinished. Clerics were totally non-existent back then, The only way to get a Gem was from the Jones quest, you only got 0.02-0.03 experience for kills at level 120+. So think back, was it really that fun? Or did this game make such a positive impression on us, it didn't matter what we had to do, we would of liked the game anyway?

Now, I see the game as near completion in the terms of gameplay balance. Each player has more of an equal chance to have above average characters because of the changes made. That to me makes the game more fun. The item mall IMO turned out to be one of the saving graces of this game, and going f2p was a great step.

The only real problem with the game right now is its population. That was something that made Pre-evo and the first months after evolution so memorable. The sheer number of people in the game, I remember I would get the blue screen of death when I walked into "5th avenue" in Junon Polis because there were so many shops crammed in one area. I'm sure the Devs right now have a plan, to balance the population across planets(luna is empty), and there is still a lot of updates that they have planned. I really don't see what else much the Devs can do to satisfy hungry players. We have the Gems/Crafting/Factions/Planets/Quests/CastleGear/etc. that was promised, albeit it took awhile. Was it too little to late? I really don't think so, there is still a good community of players and all rose needs is more players IMO.

We have the Gems/Crafting/Factions/Planets/Quests/CastleGear/etc.

Each of those translate to either farming (aka grind) or pvp (aka afk in UW).

Castle Gear? What? Oh those show off tools?
Planets? Yeah, more abandoned zones! Hurray!

This thread is about how few things we can do in this game... Farm or TG/UW... Union Wars are kind of meh...

The thing is simply, that with the current game version, you can have more or less everything. That was not possible with the old versions and that is what makes the difference in fun. Why do you have to be max level? You do not need to be max level to have fun in the game. With the slow leveling from the past there was a greater difference between players levels and gear (because refining was harder as well). I think that was more fun.

And coming with the harder gameplay you would have way more fun if you finally got a desired item. You can simply look at for example gems. In the past you was the king of da house if you got a high grade gem. Today its meaningless.

2 things that must be made:

back to the old exp system and make maps not so favorable for aoe classes.

removing good exp for white, blue and even green mobs like before would make players using more all the maps. but the problem is, the experience ammount in these abandoned maps is not good, and people level only in aoe areas. classes like raider katar, scout, battle cleric, or any other with no aoe skills simply need to leech while champs and mages kill all the mobs around, or only luring, wich I don't think fun.

after backing to the old exp systems, all mobs must give most exp per kill individual, with larger spots. aoe skill will have their advantages yet, like the possibility to luring some mobs (not too much) or exploring the dungeons, but all classes will have a fair way in killing the mobs making an active party much more fun.

I played pre-evo, and toke about 3 months to get lvl 100. played again in evo after the launching of sikuku underground prison, and got lvl 200, taking around 8 hour to get 1 single lvl. I got lvl 200 and was in top 10 raider ranking. these were great times, but now, after the many changes in exp system, it's not fair making exp low, when many players got several chars high lvl due to the ease on leveling in the past updates.

what we need is a balance. not so fast and not so slow. getting lvl 100 for second job must be easer then leveling from 100 to 150 like it's now. the mobs exp need to be according to the lvl/map. moonchild giving more exp than eldeon monsters? yes, they still yellow until almost lvl 160, but the ammount of monsters and more exp makes eldeon abandoned like it's now. even dod monsters give more exp than eldeon monsters, and they are much lower levels.

can you see the balance here? ammount of mobs = less exp, but it still good, and aoe classes got their advantages.
mobs on an open area = more exp. any class can killing and leveling not frustrating.

for last, clerics are not gods like on the old irose system, but leveling without a cleric class will get you out of mana and hp quickly. it only does the game backing to the necessity in using dual client, and it's not fun. maybe, buffs only for party? other classes with buffs too like we had in pre-evo (champ=ap, hawker=acc). these buffs don't need to be better than clerics buffs, but help making the game more independent from clerics.

clerics must have their job for intense healing skills and support in hard dungeons, pvp wars or boss killing. they don't need to be essential in any party for fast leveling.

Going back to the old exp system would be great. Perhaps not exactly the same, but at least so people can't train against grey monsters. That's just bull-_-. The exp received in DoD is too high compared to Luna or Eldeon. 25k from an antares and 8k from a polaris bear isn't what you call balanced, amirite? I think people should train in one map for 20 lvl's (yellow-pink mobs) and then transfer to the next. If this is the case, the maps would be better used and we would see a population in Eucar and Xita Refuge again.

I like the idea of the villains too. Super bosses with great loot would greatly raise the interest in killing these bosses and creating real challenges in game. Perhaps make them dropsome new unique weapons which require a minimum level(so they can't be used by lvl 1 alts ._.") but overpower the regular weapons for that level. Personally i LOVE to farm bosses. I farm all my equipment myself (e.g. I farmed the dreadnaught king for over 5 hours to find my Lunar Seal Staff, or had to kill about 200 Grand Goblin Kings to have a decent legendary executioner set) and i enjoy it. Making these bosses harder and dropping better loot would imo be a great improvement.

Cheers

There should be major changed yes, and I agree with pretty much everything you typed.

Though I also think they should redo all armors and equipments and stats from scratch with it. With adding additional armor sets and everything.
It's rediculous how it currently works. You can pretty much level your way to 2nd job in visitor clothes before putting on anything else.
And even from the 2nd job you'd only have to change armors maybe twice before you're level 200 and put on your final armor.

From level 100 and up for any job there probably are not even 10 different usable armors per class. That's over 120 levels, 10 different armor sets.
I realise leveling is too fast to have other available equipment every 2 levels, which is why I also think EXP should be downscaled totally.
Next to that they should just make 110 the max level in stead of 220, so leveling in general will go even slower.
By doing this, you can scale all maps, mobs and items a lot better then it is done now.

Everyone on the highest level is walking around with what? Mostly a Chivalrous armor set with a hardened weapon.
Sure if you want to try something you use a different 'set' but we all know, chivalrous is the way to go. With clerics wearing legendary stuff ofcourse.
And that while there are so many stats and options available. You can see it's totally unbalanced, and it doesn't require any thinking really.

Drops should definatly be redone aswell, there are no items at all that are really really hard to get. MMORPG's should be a game that you can
never finish playing, because the best of the best is SO hard to get, that you pretty much have to keep playing. Ofcourse bits of new, better, content
is released once in a while.

But the problem is, all stuff is connected to eachother, so you won't be done after just one change..
I tried to keep it short... I gotta go!
