TL;DR: Unless you're lucky and rich, is Snake Head the Magnum Opus of headgears for pure Crit/AGI builds? Is there something better aside from an over-upgraded, decent to high end enchanted ORC?
A lot of people default to Old Rune Circlet as the end game hat for RKs and it's understandable with the ATK/ASPD/OP Enchants; but as it gets easier to reach 193 ASPD and the right enchants for ORC are "hard and expensive" to get generally speaking, especially at higher level enchants (seems like even most rich people stop at lvl 5 as the rates are too low/ enchants too expensive), would a Snake Hat be better to use?
Snake Head "effectively" gives you 25% more damage via level 5 Double Attack which now works with Crit and Crushing Strike.
I don't have an ORC to test at the moment so I can't conclude whether even a "modestly" upgraded and enchanted ORC would be superior, but I have a +12 White Drooping Eddga.
Results of Snek Head vs WDE: Snek Head wins.
The proc buff from the WDE gives ~31.5% more damage but the proc rate being ~6%(?) and lasting only 3 second drops the sustain damage by a lot vs constant 25% DA on all hits.
Not to mention, the bonus advantage of proccing DA on CS for that big initial DPS, while WDE proccing and then casting CS/Frenzy is much less feasible.
So far my luck with Bio5 Hats are pretty bad, so I'm wondering if it's worth investing one for my RK, considering all the horror stories I'm hearing regarding enchanting and the current costs.
I can't think of any other hat at the moment that I would use. Please feel free to share your experience and tests.
With my current WIP setup (Lindy Hop/Mob Scarf/PDM/Temp Luk/LBS/Crit FAW, still need to upgrade some other things and card/enchant), I can do on average buffed, 19k/57k (Normal/Giant Cross) crits with DA vs 25k/75k crits with WDE proc.
Haven't seen a Giant Cross-Crushing Blow-Double Attack proc yet, but if I do, I'll screenshot that. blackCROSS was able to hit 8m in OGH without Abyss Dress, so I'm hoping with Abyss Dress and proccing DA, I can surpass the double digit million attack on my own.
