I think I left 4-5 years ago. I just came back and I feel so lost.

 

This is what I have, but seeing the videos on the pinned threads, I assume my gears are outdated already.
Besides leveling, I just want to know what gears I should try to get. I see lots of people with +15 gears, did something change with upgrading percentage? I also noticed there's "special equipment". Lots of questions... Sorry.

I really, really don't know where to start... (I think I'm just going to go casual pvm.)

 

Help and pointers would be extremely appreciated!

(I have no zeny, and seeing how the prices of stuff spiked, I don't know if I'll be able to keep up. I'm trying to see if I should even try coming back or not...)

Yes, a refine event is ongoing. It is called the Mad Bunny Refine event.

 

All OP gears now come from OCP box in the Kafra Store. Your gears are pretty outdated, but not ineffective imo. But then again, there are a lot of really over-powered options. You can check iRO Wiki GX section to see all the new equipment listed there. They aren't cheap.

 

Edit : I assume, you left before the 175 update, so you should get to levelling up first since there's an exp event ongoing. Also, you still do so many instances.

its still fun to play for fun, especially since you're on a GX so the instances shouldnt be a problem for you. Ignore the best in slot items and just have fun with the instances alone or with some new friends. There are many equipment you can get that are decent but are cheap simply because they're not best in slot.

Can you suggest the instances I should do so I can look them up?

Also, what are the decent equipment you are talking about? I'm really so lost at the gear tiers now.

Current available instance got no lvl 175 restrictions, the highest is lvl 160

Crow Tengu Mask

Toy Syringe

Enforcer Shoes

these things used to cost billions, now they cost only a few hundred millions

 

 

Now for weapon, Thanatos Katar is highly suggested, it have innate HP/SP leech, carded with Hunter Fly will increase the leech further

 

Armor, best one for leveling is Evil Dragon Armor cause of leech, but is really expensive right now, used to only cost 600m for +10, now the basic +0 is 1 bil lmao. Alternative is Nab Cloth which can be enchanted with Atk% or FS.

 

Perverse Demon Mask is good for stats and def bypass, but need to have a stats build with multiple of 18. Blacksmith Glove also provides 50% def bypass, without stats requirement and a bit cheaper since everyone switching to PDM.

Deviant, Shadow/Undead armor, blind immunity, Happy Flapping Angel Wing and high leech gear recommended to solo effectively in NCT

With that kinda gears you can farm bio3 as well, heavy use of converters tho (also replace gscarf with the new toy syringe giving you higher healing effects for white slims, it is kinda cheap)

You farm the weapons from bio3 to trade them for the new biolab headgears (100 fragments) which are really really great even at just +8, or you can even sell the fragments to get some funds

Altho for easy zeny making, get yourself even just a +7 thanatos katar, put hunterfly in it, get a rideword hat (evsn +0 is fine!) and slap some engkanto card in it (betterr if yoy also have sngkanto midgear) and any poison or undead armor and start farming faceworm instance for the giant faceworm snake skin which is quite pricey in chaos i heard. You can get 4 a day, 6 if you finish the instance so it's quite a zenny pooping machine.

You can still do instances with your current setup. Make new friends and party with peeps. Instances you can do are: Old Glast Heim, Faceworm Nest, Nightmare Toy Factory. Doing these will help you earn zenny. Good luck!
