May be a silly question or just erroneous text on the item description: does it really leech back HP? (5% chance of restoring 4% of damage as HP when performing a physical attack).

 

I've never had a leeching HP gear so I'm not sure how it would show up if it did fire (green heal number over head?), but after 30 minutes of killing kobolds with just attacks and also counter slash/pulse strike, I did not see any evidence of extra healing from the item..

leech items won't show a green heal like effect. it will just add up to your hp/sp.

 

this is also proportional to your dmg so you might not feel it if you are only auto attacking or counter slash at small amount of mobs or low dmg.

 

its only good if you have a high chance to leech with high dmg to a large amount of mobs to get back alot of hp/sp.

 

also, i havent tried the horns so im not sure if it leeches hp.

 

best to try it at izlude eggs. get down to low hp and have 50% weight(so no hp recov) and just hit the eggs. wait for it to take effect if it gives you some hp based on dmg.

Yes, you may try with 50% weight but no with other leech gears, especially Thanatos Katar.

I think th e question should be if this leech from the Horns stack with other leech gear? From what I know, Rideword Hat [1] don’t stack with EDA [1].

And, is OP GX or new? Salute for didn’t have a leech gear before as a GX...

Thanks for the info y'all.  I'm a new GX, yes, used to play the game many years ago otherwise though (had a ranger and crusader).  My GX is 121 and I just got my thanatos katar today....used bunches of fresh fish before now. ;P  And hopefully getting some other leech gear soon (RWH, maybe that elusive/expensive hunter fly card too).

You could do the anniversary quest for some +0 Oni Horns, they are pretty good leech wise.

I did already do the quests a few times (got one after doing costume repair quest, then afterwards a 2nd one from the random cosplayer quest ) and started using it, which is why I was curious about the effect after trying out the headgear.

Just bear in mind RWH and EDA don’t stack.

The rest is fine. And if you’re on Malicious Thanatos Katar and Oni Horns only, you gonna have a little bit of problem on SP proc. This is the point you need to take note and bring some HP and SP reovery consumable when proc rate is bad.

Or you can do some heavy investment by investing in +10 EDA [1] to stack with Malicious Thanatos Katar then your leech would be good.

IMO, don’t need more then 2 leech gears for leveling.

FYI, you can do Centipede at 120 level and don’t be stingy in EDP.

I'm newbie/poor enough that I'm not worrying about super expensive things like Evil Dragon Armor, and I don't even have a hunter fly card yet to use. . (not too enthused about it being one of the inflatable priced cards).  I hopefully will get a +9 RWH soon through trade, but of course my planned WPE code generating from the WP website does not work for almost the past week (leading to remember probable reason why I got sick of this game years ago probably )

 

And yes, I actually made it to New World to check out some quests there and smacked a few centipedes already- I haven't used EDP much yet cause of relative cost, and of course the lovely fact it only lasts for 1 minute at baseline. At 65k a pop to buy a poison bottle (and lets so 60x usage in an ~hour for leveling) = 3.9 mil zeny spent for bottle supplies... pretty expensive for me sadly.  I've just stored up on bunches of bounty board/leveling quests and done monster token x3 buff to get levels at a time, but still makes me sad i would need to spend a relative bunch more to just get rid of these higher level monsters..

 

Edit: Also thankfully just discovered costume: goggles yesterday and made some as well. Though also doubly saddens me I didn't know about them previously...need more exp!
