Hello, I'm starting up again and was wondering what would be the base level gear to be able to solo NCT? Been at scarabs but now at level 154, its getting slow and its hard to level up my RG.

 

I've also noticed that price on gears have over inflated quite a bit. What would be a reasonable strategy to obtain gear now? (i.e. do I have to throw in loads of money for OCP? I opened 5 just now with crap luck).

go straight NCT from lv150. It's super fast leveling from 150-160+ in NCT right now with xp bonus. If your gear sucks, just don't drag too many. 

 

All you need to start is just

1. Some form of leech (even thanatos spear is okay)

2. a cheap shield with penomena or even cheaper, a charge basilisk card

3. shadow/ undead armor (even in engraved armor which is like 100K zenny only is okay).

4. garment with raydric works also.

What would you recommend I go for in terms of gear?

 

I currently have:

+9 Vana

+9 Brocca

3D glasses

+9 Resis Valk shield

temporal BP boots

Keranos x2

get shadow/undead armor. +9MBTA or +9EDA works well

 

+9HFAW is the best in slot in NCT for upper HG

 

Malicious/Beholder thanatos spear, Blood Sucker/Tengu Scroll and Incubus/Succubus Pet will give you the leech you'll ever need. (i prefer incubus)

 

+12 Mad bunny shield 

 

your boots is already fine but should be EA enchant 

 

+9 FAW EA enchant

Welcome back and congrats you've chosen to play a path of pain and misery. With your gears, it is do-able but it is challenging and harder than other class counterparts.

 

What I recommend economically

 

Top: +9 Happy Flapping Angel Wing

Lower: Toy Syringe

Weapon: +9/+12 Imperial Spear (EA enchant)

Shield: Penomena Card on Imperial Guard. +9 Bunny is good too. I dont think you need +10 or +12 Bunny.

Acc: Imperial Ring (If you will use Imperial Spear). Blacksmith's Glove.

 

Brocca is surprisingly good in NCT but I personally prefer Imperial spear. However, your priority for now is to +9 HFAW and Toy Syringe. If you decide to continue with your Brooca, try to get Imperial Ring anyway because we'll soon get Imperial Feather and you will need Imperial Ring anyway.

Necroing post by fuyukikun from 2017. NCT is a lot easier now with the introduction of +9HappyFAW and def bypass gears but this helped me a lot back then. All credits goes to fuyukikun.

If you want I can help you out. My RG is 155 atm and we can level together. Though you need to change your skills and get banding and RoG. Do you have Divine Guard Hat by any chance?

@Chakri is RoG good in NCT? Or would you prefer solo?

I think I have max 1.5-2b to spend currently. But i was looking at some of these gears, are quite expensive. The happy flappy wings are close to 1b for a +9 (wow!), imperial ring or gloves are close to 1b ea., FAW is 1b.

 

Oh I do have a +9 immune HBP. 

 

You think if would be cheaper to level my alt which is a BS (axe or mado?) atm? Would it be easier/more economical?

To Klief: My schedule is crazy...so often times i only get to play here and there so it'll prob be super hard to meet up. You would probably level way surpass me hehe. Thank you for the offer!

Thing is, you will either have to walk around with your alt or you want to use G.wing which gets expensive. The trick in NCT is to wing, find lemon, and kill then repeat. If you have an alt following you, you will have to walk in the map to find mobs. This though might not be bad for RG because the reason other people wing is because they have good AoE around the caster. Cannon spear and OB are AoE but they are not perfect AoE like Lion’s Howl or RC or Commet or Ignite break or Axe tornado. Only Moon slash is a perfect AoE but damage is low lol

What I’m more concerned is NCT has 180k HP and it’s not Undead. It will take couple RoG to kill them and since you will walk with your alt (G.wings are expensive), you won’t gather lots of mobs. You know what I’m getting there. You walk and you see 2-4 mobs and it takes couple RoGs to kill. It might be bad and time consuming. If you use G.wing and gather 8-10 mobs, it might be worth trying RoG but then it gets expensive.

So it’s up to you. I personally prefer to solo because I can fly or even if I walk, VP/CS/OB can kill mobs fast.

I have to admit... RG Imperial Set with 120 agi gives the best damage output by far in NCT...
