Recently I created a Gene, and I'm in doubt of which weapon to use, mace or sabre.

Sabre I can up the mastery skill, and thus increase my attack by +50 and FLEE +15.

Would I lose something by doing this? Give me opinions

For Crimson, Mace would be better than Saber. But RTE is far better damage.

RTE for the ea enchant and extra card slot, but if u plan on getting dieter and pyro then can get mace for now since the patch that pyro won't break weapon isn't here yet.

As long as he doesn’t die, you can use Pyroclastic + FCP.

isnt mace have only 80 and sabre have 85 base atk?

and gene has that sabre skill that gives more atk with mace?

im confused.

Because of size penalty of swords against big monsters - 99% of MVPs are big size.

The damage difference is mostly inconsequential between mace and sabre (the 5 base atk won't be noticed). Further, the mastery style atk is pretty meh and not something I would use to determine whether or not I should default a certain type of weapon.

 

Between your two choices, I'd go with crimson mace. Though in actually, I use a vicious mind mace for when I use a 1handed weapon.

Don't bother with sabre or mace, this is RTE/BTE re-glorified eras for genetic.

 

That tiny 25% size penalty doesn't affect RTE/BTE at all and it still won against any of these 2 crimson weapons both for Cart Cannon and Acid Bombing purpose even at lesser refine +9 and its far cheaper than these 2 +15 crimson weapons

 

The other undefeated king is the mighty hurricane fury.

 

For demi-human race go with glorious morning star, it's as simple as that.

^ tested myself in a 1 str geneticist and even so RTE did more damage than +15 Crimson Mace.

your weapon element doesnt matter when using non neutral ammo

Believe me, RTE will still do better damage. Unless you're using Arm Cannon. Lol (but then just Aspersio + Holy Ball).

It's because they can now be enchanted in Malangdo. EA6 being the highest possible EA to get.

With the same refine level and cards compounded, Crimson Mace is always better than Crimson Sabre. Though as the other ppls have pointed out, you may consider RTE with EA enchant over Crimson Mace, but just for your original question you should know this is not even a contest.
