I'm an Arch Bishop doing the daily quest in the Prontera Underground Prison. For some reason, I can't hit a Taffy despite having almost 450 hit. I've tried hitting them barehanded, with my weapon, with Aspersio, and none of my melee attacks can hit them at all, despite being a brute type with an earth level 1 element. Is this some kind of bug? A Sura who was doing the daily, lent me his +9 Thanatos Hammer to attack it, but it still misses, while he can hit them without any issues.

he has a pretty high soft def, your atk is just not high enough most likely

Thanks for the insight, I certainly hope that's not the case. Not being able to damage it, even with a +9 Thanatos Hammer is pretty ridiculous. I thought you can do atleast 1 damage regardless, as long as you have enough hit. Or was that a thing only in classic?

soft def can completely negate the damage, if it is higher than the remaining incoming damage after the rest of atk/def calculations.

Taffy just has a really really really really high soft def, like, 2~3x higher than the 2nd highest one in the game.

it has 1000 vit. actually, u need to do attacks more than 2000 dmg (to be safe) to be able to hit them. skills will do.
