The Chef Hat requirement for cooking was already removed on the developers' server, we just need to get that update.

Yes, but it's a ridiculous workaround for a problem that could be easily solved by either not requiring the Chef Hat for cooking or just allowing Novice classes to wear the darn thing. The developers chose to do the former.
