I had a chance to grab Gloom but since Abyss came out, I totally lost interested in Gloom. I always run fast when people offer Gloom in my trade lol

Gloom can be useful when fighting Valk but almost anyone can kill Valk in 1-5 shots. What leaves Gloom shrine on only ... two mosnters. HP MVP and Paladin MvP lol

my thoughts exactly! abyss is so much better as an "all-around" gear.

1. most instances/monsters in the game are either ghost/demon/shadow/undead/neutral for race/element. abyss covers 3 of these. gloom covers 2

2. price, easily. abyss is at least 1/10th the price of gloom lol.
3. accessibility. gloom is a card (with a heavily camped MVP) while abyss is a jRO item which you know there are multiples of. easier to acquire with Z or $ for boxes.
4. though not slotted, abyss is still essentially a more efficient gloom (in terms of monster availability) combined with a bryn (same defense at +0 [but actually better defense at +9] and anti-knockback)

5. you can use abyss at lvl 90. most people will card gloom into a gear specifically for upper-tier levels/MvP action, and as such will require a gear at a higher base level.
6. abyss is already shadow property, which generally helps out a lot considering that the armor itself is strong against that property (and a lot of shadow attacks can pack a punch from upper lvl monsters). gloom will most likely be carded into an attack/leech-type armor like abusive/EDA/FDA, all of which are neutral element.

***** i would add in RG's from bio5 as the only normal monster exception if you're one to armor switch. you dont really need a gloom for bio3 high priests or b4 pallies.


anyway my bad for diverting OP. slotted work cap would be fun but i feel like unless you have the atk coelacanth card it wouldnt really be worth it. that's my stance on any dope attack headie though.

Well sometimes the armor is part of a set that you dont want to break, and assuming the armor has a slot, then compounding Gloom Card on this armor will be a much more attractive choice than switching to Abyss Dress and lose your set bonus. One such example is White Wing Set for Ranger, in which they may not want to give up the White Wing Set Bonus by replacing White Wing Suit[1] by Abyss Dress. Though with the arrival of prism ranger scarf, the picture may change and the White Wing Set Bonus aint that important anymore, at least thats a possibility.

Tried that place once, just RMT every which way.

 

But in this game, there are only 3 items left that I want. One is from OCP, one is a pet from kRO and the other is a Gloom Card.

 

If someone wants to do a deal for one they can always PM me, but I ain't bothering with Facebook Market, and certainly not RMTing for that damn thing either.
