I read in another forum that the priest skill 'Perfect skill' was bugged because the description says that u cant attack with this skill on, but in reality u can still use X to attack, i was wondering if anyone knew if this bug was still happening and also is it worth getting this skill? also, doesnt anyone think that chain lightning should be fixed? because mobs and other players can easily get out of it, the time between hits is too long so monsters can easily catch the caster, and in pvp it allows anyone to use a quick skill and free themselves

Perfect Seal was never bugged, it was intended to function that way (you can attack w/ "X" while using it, just not use skills). They changed the description to clarify this. It's not really worth it, though, since you can easily heal whatever damage you might be taking -- and in PvP, not being able to use skills basically means you're silencing yourself, which is a definite no-no.

CL does suck in PvE now, but it's still useful as a temp stun or disruption skill in PvP. Just use it sparingly. Even if they made it hit more often, people would still be able to use skills to escape, unless it was a constant hit-hit-hit like Spark Rock (and they're nerfing that, too, to remove that ability, so I doubt they intend to add it to another skill).

Just focus on using Flasher and Spark Rock to catch someone, then hit them w/ a quick debuff (Quagmire) and use x-spam/Rain of Fire on them. Throw in a Wraith for some more damage/time, if you have it.

but if the CD is 10 seconds (i got this from the forum i read) then wouldnts it be a great life saver as they cant hit u but u can still go around hitting them with x? like although u cant use skill as long as the enemy cant heal then every bit of dmg counts, on the other hand if it was vs a priest or BM then it would kinda suck since those classes can just heal the minimum dmg u deal with just x, but considering other classes cant heal it seems like a gud back up plan againsts a knight's huge defense or ninja/hunter's high evade rate. wouldnt this work as a playstyle in pvp? perfect seal -> spam X -> run/dodge around while CD of perfect seal -> repeat
it seems like an ok way to get used to how other classes play at first, to get a gud idea of pvp

EDIT: Forgot to add this -- the CD of PS is 90 seconds *minimum* now. That information is outdated, evidenced by the mistaken reference to the "bug."

The problem is that w/o skills to defend yourself with, you're a sitting duck for a lock, infi-launch, sleep, frog, etc. And any smart foe will recognize this vulnerability and use these tactics to disable you as soon as you use PS, meaning that you're very rarely going to be doing any damage while using it (don't forget that x-spam only hits targets on the ground, too, and is really only truly damaging when focused over a decent period of time on a stationary target). Worse yet, since PS prevents damage, it will prevent you from being freed from sleep or frog thanks to a stray hit, so you're stuck that way until PS wears off and you get hit or until the debuff itself wears off.

Worse yet, as soon as they disable you, your foes will quickly turn their attention to overwhelming your teammates and killing as many of them as possible while you're incapable of healing or assisting them in any way. Basically, once you use PS, you're pretty useless until it wears off. I know the hit-and-run tactic sounds decent in theory, but trust me, it never works well, and ultimately prevents you from focusing on your #1 goal -- keeping your teammates alive. If it gave you impervious status, then it might actually make for some interesting tactics -- but as it is now, PS is really just a last-ditch skill to use to try to survive a brutal assault long enough to either flee and heal yourself or enable your teammates to reach and protect you. And quite honestly, as a healer capable of using multiple MP-cheap, high-powered healing spells in rapid succession -- not to mention capable of equipping certain heirloom armor sets that can greatly reduce the damage you take -- you shouldn't have much trouble staying alive w/o PS. If you are having trouble, then you're really only delaying the inevitable.

The only time PS might actually be just plain useful would be in BattleSquare, if you have flags and simply want to preserve yourself for as long as possible. Even then, though, the lag is so bad that few will be able to lock a player w/ decent health long enough to kill them before they can escape and heal -- and even while you're being locked, you can spam pots for added protection.

Oh, and it's useful sometimes for boss battles, but again, not at all necessary. An unnecessary luxury, rather.

By all means, go ahead and try PS out, get a feel for how it works in PvP. I'm pretty confident you'll reach these same conclusions yourself in a short time.

oh ok thanks for the detailed explanation, now i understand wat u mean, i guess i was thinking mostly about 1 vs 1 pvp, it makes sense not to use it in PVP with more than just 1 vs 1.

Before, when the duration was longer it had some utility, but now that the duration has been decreased, Perfect Seal is no longer needed and would be a waste of SP to get.

One problem with perfect seal is that you can actually still get knocked over. Sometimes even poisoned. For example, Rocker or whatever they changed his name to in Valid Raeth will breath his green breath knocking you over. You don't receive damage but since the bubble really doesn't last too long it's still a pain.

Yeah, it doesn't give impervious status or protection from status effects -- so Witch's Curse, Disease, Sleep, Burn, etc. can still be a nuisance.
