Depends on the level and complementary gears, you cant expect the la'cryma do everything. Also there are some ghost MVPs wich its better to mastering Soul Expansion and intensification, in these cases you can use a crimson rod + some combo cards on rod+shield like the nightmare mimic&Nightmare Arclouse/ big ben&Neo Punk to bypass 50% MDEF + some dmg on these races (formless, demon, brute, undead)
You can just go waterball all, facing some problems with holy, water, shadow mobs due to element.
Waterball its good, really good, but there are some exceptions
Survivor and celine set is all u need in 90% of circumstances including shadow monsters. After intensification wears off for ghost mvps, its still more dps to spam JT. Thats how powerful surv and celine is.
I feel like the discussion has veered off from trying to answer the OP's question. So I'll just go ahead and say that I started out as a ranger and really found the playstyle to be quite boring -- however they really are inexpensive to gear and level up.
I had the same idea as you when I started -- I wanted a class that could solo content, MVP and instances fairly easily. After getting bored of the Ranger, I decided to go for Geneticist -- and it was the best decision I made. One of the downsides is that, yes, the Geneticist is an expensive class to gear... but for me that was a bit of motivation for me to achieve my next piece of gear. Each piece of gear was a milestone and it motivated me to keep making zeny and doing content to be able to achieve the next upgrade.
Also, the class is very fun: Cart Boost is amazing! I love running around at maximum speed! Cart Cannon and Acid Bomb are great for solo players since their AoE and single-target abilities are incredibly powerful. Enlarged Weight and Cart Remodeling also allows me to basically carry EVERYTHING without having to worry about being overweight. I currently can hold 9930 (With Heavy Lifter) in my inventory, and another 10500 in my cart! and the nurturing of a homunculus gives you something to do if you're AFKing and taking a break.
When you do achieve end-game gear, you're one of the strongest classes in the game and can solo even some of the hardest content without too much difficulty.
Cr rock with true kk is really for nct leveling and undead/earth mvps. Its very specific and limits you to 1 skill.
Unless you like being item count maxed, cumbersome, while carrying both sets.
Also, true kk is insanely expensive when stuck with only 1 skill. Take advantage of the OCP survivor set while its cheap.
Imo true kk is not worth at all unless you already have celine surv.
People also forget it boosts neutral matk. This makes drain life 5 do 60-70k and makes mobbing a breeze.
Wait till true kk is 2b or less. Its absolutely not worth the price right now.
Warlocks are masters of spells. Not masters of 1 single skill. And just because surv is cheap right now doesnt mean its not "good".
cory remember CR is one of the best empowered skill in WL arsenal for solo AoE kiting everything that is not fire, holy2-above, shadow3-above and water4. You should cherish the glory from the past of your near perfect enchant mora empowered crimson staff :U
Below is kRO videos which doesn't have such things like valk knife, celine ribbon & celine brooch combo, mob scarf, abyss dress, magician gloves, pdm, etc jRO superpower stuffs.
FYI Ye Kim just using 2 pcs True KK card on SFB, tempest shadow sets, NAM card faw and pair of mavka cards on alchemy glove.
Now imagine how much damage can be generated with our hybrid stuff in iRO.
Yea but I don't want players to think they need 20b+ in gear.
The Survivor/Celine fills in that gap while also giving us darn good damage per second spamming JT. Seriously, in most circumstances I do far more DPS on my warlock on non-wind/holy/shadow property monsters than my RK with Lindy
