Did someone just try to hack my account?

So I came home from looking to kickback at Rune Midgard, only to found my password is incorrect that has been the same since 2008! After a mini-heart attack, I changed my password and managed to log in and thank God all my items are still intact. I think I might have given away my username and some poor sod tried to login multiple times. Hence, I made a new account just to post in the forums.

What can I do to prevent this from happening again? Can I change the username for an in-game account?


EDIT: It turns out I did get hacked and someone stole my zeny  :p_sad:  :p_sad: 
EDIT2: How do I know if it was a hacked or a GM investigated my account? I didn't get any forum or account e-mail at all.

maybe a GM investigated your account, but he forgot to change back the password

I've tried to submit a ticket but every time I send one through it just leads me to this splash page and says:

Ooops. Something went wrong. This has been logged and reported.

Is the support system down for Ragnarok Online? I'm pretty sure I filled every boxes correctly too.

Thank you, I have sent an email to ROsupport@warpportal.com instead as I cannot submit a ticket from three different browsers (Chrome, Explorer and Firefox).

In a similar topic, is there a way to change an in-game accounts's username or can that only be done through the support system? I have requested to change my username in my ticket as well, to try and prevent any -_- hackers from attempting again.

As far as I know, it is not possible to change the name of game account ID.

if you hadn't lost zeny i'd have said it was more than likely a GM who forgot to change your password back. that's happened to me twice in one week before.

Those errors have been there forever when sending a ticket. I think it usually happens when what you write or attach is too large.

 I lost about 1.8b zeny on one character and around 1.2b on another. The weirdest part is the hacker didn't take any items and even left some zeny as well in those characters too. Why would any hacker do that?  :hmm:

I am afraid we will not be able to give you a satisfactory answer here in regarding account in-game item transactions, as it could be anything. The GM team should be able however to investigate and see what happened. If you have yet to get a ticket response then contact Barracuda [link] on forums with the detail. Keep in mind that, on average it may take up to 2 to 3 days for a ticket response (non-payment related).
