Hi all, recently did some testing with Heroic trade mail + brooch of hero vs alternatives.

 

I tested on eggs with the following gears:

 

Setup 1:

+12 Midas (Magic essence, no int enchants)

Seraphim Coronet

Syringe

+11 Dex2/Dex2 abusive

+15 Double Lib Crimson Mace (N)

+9 FAW (EA 10) of shooter

+9 Temp Dex RM EA

Temp Ring (GS)

PDM (GS)

 

vs

 

Setup 2:

+12 Midas (Magic essence, no int enchants)

Seraphim Coronet

Syringe

+11 Heroic Trade Mail 

+15 Double Lib Crimson Mace (N)

+9 FAW (EA 10) of shooter

+9 Temp Dex RM EA

Temp Ring (GS)

Brooch of Hero (no card)

 

Damage on eggs with NO converter (shield spell, blessing, int/str +20 foods)

 

Setup 1: 122k-127k

Setup 2: 150-155k

 

Shadow gears were +9 intelligent set, +15 kingbird set, +18 lib set, int+1 mid, atk+1% upper

 

Abyss outperforms by quite a bit on the correct properties (undead/shadow/demon/undead) but this is a great replacement for dex/dex armors and also means instacast is incredibly easy. The stat bonuses are pretty comical, I had 120+123 int I believe. 

 

Another added benefit is you get quite a bit of vit / agi / luck so you're boosting your hp pool and also improving your resistances to a number of stat effects. I plan to test again in the future if I ever get to +14ing the armor during a MBS event. Let me know if there's anything else you'd like me to test with the armor and I'd be happy to do so. 

 

TL;DR: Heroic Trademail significantly outperforms dex/dex enchanted armors with PDM.

The dmg boost is even more if you're using a better weapon like RTE. Str plays a bigger role with higher wATK.

 

Those who are aiming this combo would probably need to ditch the Temporal ring combo in the future and stick with PDM when the swordsman boots comes

Ah yeah I actually have a +11 trip AK RTE (ea5) I'll test that when I get home and see if it's a big difference. My tests with RTE before this were actually a bit lower in damage for the RTE than the mace.

That RTE can't possibly do lower dmg than a +15 crimson, perhaps you're hitting fire eggs without endow? (RTE fire endows)

 

Try using a water converter when using the RTE and hitting the fire eggs. Also do use a dmg type shield, and spellshield when testing.

Yeah, Iron balls will use the weapon's element. I usually just use holy balls to avoid hitting things with fire unless they're weak to it

That's actually a really good question. I didn't use them in this test (mainly because I sold my str2/2 abusive) but in the past when comparing the str (4) abusive to dex (4) flattery I had better damage from the flattery by a small amount. I don't think my gears have changed much since then besides getting temp ring so I imagine the results are similar. If anyone wants to lend me a str enchanted 16.1 or 16.2 armor hit me up.

 

My list of things to test tonight are:

I think +40 int bonus alone from rm enchants and temporal ring clearly beat pdm anyday now for cc skill damage.

^ Correct. I did one CC and it was significantly less so just went back to Temp ring. Sorry y'all wasn't able to test last night, got very busy with work. Will try again to do it tonight!

Okay so tested all armors again but this time w/ buffs (from ab) and +11 Triple AK RTE (ea5)

 

+9 FDA / PDM: 220k - 235k

+11 Abusive (dex2/2) / PDM: 209-219k

+11 HTM / BoH: 230k - 248k

 

Looks like it's not as significant of a difference now using the RTE, but still comes out best in damage.

With the FDA you're also getting 20% more boss damage -- and since the eggs are boss property, it's sort of impressive that the HTM/BoH combo still does more damage despite the 20% extra damage to those eggs that FDA provides. Also, it seems like you were using GS card in the PDM and none in the BoH.

I just carded GS in it for the last test, so for the upper 3 it was the same.

 

SeiginoYuusha  was kind enough to lend me +13 Abusive str3/2 and I tested that, it ended up giving me 234-251k damage.

So, the +13 Abusive STR3/2 out performed the HTM/HoB combo?

Hm, I'm curious if a Dex 3/2 will have any significant impact on the damage?

I doubt it. 3% ranged damage is getting diminished by the already high ranged damage from +9 FAW, EA 10, Menblatt, and 14% ranged from dex2/2. Damage difference would be ~1.5% I believe or 3k or so compared to the dex2/2

Curiously, is Abusive Robe STR > Flattery Robe STR? (Do we care about Acid Bomb in this test?)
