I just turned 99/70 with my mastersmith. I'm an old player from the brazilian server, but I quit when the third classes showed up. Recently my friends decided to play again and we all started from scratch in iRO knowing nothing about the new items/skills/quests/etc.
Now after some research, i have doubts about mechanic builds. I always enjoyed solo pvm classes, but I understand that is no longer viable, but I'm still looking for a PVM/MVP build for mechanic. What do you guys recommend? I have a considerable amount of zeny to spend, and got lucky with the new boxes and got an arquien's necklace, so axe tornado is definitely a possibility, although I'm not sure how an axe tornado build performs on an MVP situation, which is an important goal to me.

Please give me some tips, thoughts, I'll appreciate anything really.

Since you already have the necklace, might as well go for Axe Tornado

The basic things you'll need are

1. Tornado Axe
2. A source of leech

With those two, you'll be able to level smoothly.

The play style for Mado Mechanics though is completely different. But you do get to equip a shield which helps in MVPing.

Mado Mechanics just need a regular Pile Bunker for starters, which you'll upgrade to the PS or T variant when you get to level 130. Focus on getting Arm Cannon first if going this route.


Finally another build you can try out is axe boomerang.

The three key pieces of gear required for this are

1. Supplement Armor
2. Supplement Dex Accessory
3. Sea Captain Hat

An Incubus pet , 250m

 

temporal st boot , 500-900m depends on your luck

 

supplement of Con with Flamel Card + Supplement Con Str  (50m?) --- start with this if you lack of zeny 

 

+10 work cap 2 - 2.5b --- start with this if you lack of zeny 

 

double Arquien's Necklace 2-2.5b --- start with this if you lack of zeny 

 

+10 Tornado axe + True Howard card (2-3b?)

 

Temporal Ring or Mechanic necklace

 

Basically with those gears you can solo until 175 in NCT.

 

After 175 you should sell all your gears switch to either Mado or Axe boomerage.. unless they add new OCP item for reduce that 1 sec cooldown for the Axe Tornado otherwise it is really weak compare to most of Classes.

 

(with this build, str 120, I can two shot Big Bells, So pretty much good enough for leveling. 30mins BMx3 can finish 4 rounds depends on luck.

I am at 160 level, Actually I level faster with axe boomerage with high-end gears than Tornado if I am leveling in NCT. Much faster clearing the mobs.

 

p.s only in NCT axe boomerage is better for leveling. otherwise Tornado is the first option (if Mado is not in option)

Get a high strength and max your axe mastery to hit almost any monster.

 

 

Sea captain hat (cheap) or Catherina Von Blood (Combo A)

Any mid gear

Any low gear

Supplement Part - Str [0]

Tornado Axe with hunterfly

Supplement Part - Con [1]

Temporal Str or the supplement part - Agi [1] (boots)

Arquine's Necklace 2x

 

PET

Incubus (SP Leech) 

Succubus (HP Leech) (Combo A)

2 pcs supplemental chips also good to serve as alternative to arquien necklace at low level, since the necklace grants skill boost scaled by your char base level.

 

but for now get arquien instead, since its cheaper because plenty supply from ocp remix X and it can be bought straight from ragial vendors.
