@campitor

Making bio5 great again!

What if you guys implemented some sort of checkout npc?

For example, before you exit bio5 you need to run your loots through the checkout npc, OR if you want to vend frags, make them vendable ONLY after going through this npc. This way you have a way to check for duped frags.

I also heard people are botting bio5? Wth?

So you are suggesting an in game npc to check for duped items before vending but how would it check?

It depends how items are stored in the database, i am not sure if each item has like a prefix or just an item id or what, or how can they notice that an item is a dupe or not? Whatever that identifier is, to use it in the npc.

Or at least make the npc validate the fragments, before selling(non vendable unless they have gone through npc), this way they can basically track the fragments.

I'm just throwing ideas out there. Brainstorm with me guys, this cannot continue.

Tracking the origin of the item.

Can that method be coded into an npc from known bad sources?

For example if item, comes from certain account, or accounts it will blacklisted and ask user to open a ticket for review (which if it is dupes, they will not open a ticket).

Also the npc would check the database of bad accounts, and either allow it or not.

Another option is to skip all of that and make a npc that validates fragments per account or user. So if user xyz submits 300 fragments, they will vendable but at least they gotta go through an npc that will log xyz user submitted 300 frags every day for the last 2 days. Therefore, it will raise a flag in their system, or the npc automatically issues a ticket, that will be reviewed by GM's.

Theoricaly looks good. Practically no. Do you think they are able to make something like this? Where they can’t even fix a simple ocp gears. Aka red baby dragon hat.

Took them over half a year to fix devil’s hand and that ab ring. How long do you think they will be able to make something like this? Lol

A lot of things seem good on paper. Making things more inconvenient for normal users that do not exploit is not good practice. Also, they do not have much in house development and something like this detracts from overall improvements. We just have to go on like dupes do not exist and hope that they figure out how to end it once and for all. RO is a very old game and with it comes holes that need to be patched.

Old or not, still can be fixed. That is the problem today. People just give up

They did something similar for a extended list of items that can't be sold to npc without going to it first. Something similar "could" be implemented maybe?

they'd have to disable normal bwings, every 'colored' bwing, ab & sura warp skills, and find a way around alt & F4 lol.

which would mean making it so that the dungeon doesnt kick you out when logging out, in which case there would then probably still be issues with duping inside the map itself along with the abuse of ROdex.

yo dawg i heard you like catch 22's with your catch 22's~

Appreciate your suggestion.

But I don't see how this suggestion is going to work. We need more to enforce an additional security measure. (Don't think that i'm against your suggestions.. dupes are a nuisance. But we need a better solution).

1. Assuming dupe copies the latest details from the 'original' item. What stops them from copying from an already npc verified fragment? The new one is already 'verified'.

2. Assume that the system checks the verification id and once its vend, people will have to re-verify it before it can be vended again - so any duplicated id would be deleted or rejected.

- how about traded cursed fragments? People can still sell via trade since they can still use it for the enchantment part, and once its being used... its used. Or rodex-ed.

3. Verification when you are to enchant.

- Assuming each item has a unique id, so once its being used, the system rejects any piles that shares the same id (since dupe will most likely dupe the same id for everything, assuming item id 2708 , unique id: 10900, duping will probably let you have tens or thousands of the same item id and unique id.

- So the enchanting npc will remove all dupes and before letting them enchant their bio5 cursed fragments.

- However, the sales aren't restricted and players will still have to ask GM to reverse trade or claim to get their zeny back.

I think tracking the dupers for the high npc-able items is good. It doesn't stop them from exchanging zeny but once the flag is raised, they can immediately delete that zeny from duped source from circulation.

We are on a responsive and not preventice method here.

But at least it will make vended fragments safe. And ppl can stop worrying about it. But i'm not sure if they can code that since as people have mention, their hands are tied to kRO development team.

GM's from pRO in which some are known to destroy populous pservers on their free time ,hence they know the workarounds of this game, (most likely when their under the table deals are at stake) once said publicly that they can not trace whoever was duping stuff and how they did it (zeny, godlies, cards etc etc) but they will try to resolve it. They never succeeded

So on a layman's view (mine) it is more complicated than many here think

Just sharing

I should rephrase that.

Manually, tracking the origin of each item, via logs.

I would suggest an online list or ingame list of players with highest number of x items. Like how Forbes lists the richest person blah blah blah.

A literal fire wall.
