I've got a few questions I would ask the lovely community of ragnarok in general. so I've been looking into quite a few things about the game and I want to figure something out, of course ill have to do some tests myself and come up with a conclusion but I would also like to receive some input and insights from other veteran players who know what they're doing and who actually understand how the game works. so, I've been looking into the debate between % and + bonuses. which one would you choose between an item that gives you lets say matk + 30  or a matk + 3%? and why? are they both the same? is one better than the other? if so, in what terms? Also. Lets suppose I max level an assassin class to 175 and do a reset stats on it. What if I max out all the stats on agi and luk and use lets say morrigane equipment with 2 fortune swords to further increase luk agi flee perfect dodge. I was actually thinking of experimenting with this to make a pure puller tanker if such thing exists. is it worth it? has anyone else tried experimenting with this too? jot down your thoughts and share your wisdom achievements or failures you've had throughout your experiences. Hope everyone has a beautiful day. p.s. and another thing. why is maintenance so long? wasn't It a couple of hours or 3 before? now its what, nearly 7? wtf

1) regarding flat atk or % atk, the idea is that if the % gives you more than the flat, it's better. What that break point is often depends on what gear you have available to you. They both end up as atk, so it's a question of which one is more.

For example, if you already have a total of 400 atk, then 1% atk = 4 flat atk, and so 20% atk is better than 50 flat atk. etc.

This used to be a really common question, and the principle remains the same, but with the abundance of flat atk gear like giant's protection or shadow sets or buffs like shield spell, it often means that the % atk stuff will be better. This changes if you are using a really weak weapon tho.

2) Perfect Dodge tanks have been a thing since pre-renewal and it's quite easy for both an assassin and a maestro to do it. Keep in mind tho that perfect dodge only works on auto-attacks, and skills can still hit you. It's not... optimal, to say the least, especially if you are level 175, but it's a thing you can choose to do if you want to have some fun.

the rule i've always gone by is what i was taught years ago: if you already have strong weapon atk (lets use 175 cat's +10 yellow foxtail as an example), then you're good to go on using % modifiers. the reason is because you already have a ridiculous amount of attack. i think its something just short of + 650 atk for that weapon by itself. in this case, your atk is so friggen stacked off your weapon alone already that the % modifiers you would gain elsewhere would boom the damage much more so than, say, an extra 10-20 atk. an exception to this scenario would be introducing seraphim coronet into the equation because of how much extra flat atk it would give.

if your weapon isnt very strong (ie: you're lower level so can't equip strong wep yet) then flat atk is actually better. reason being, your atk isnt already high so any small % number you throw into the equation is really not going to amount to much at all.

TLDR; if your damage is insanely high: add atk% modifiers. if your damage is very very low, add flat atk.

despite having a 175, its only RC built. not even sure why i made it other than the name (if Reptile, then must be assassin?). my gx knowledge is virtually doo-doo my friend, other than RC. and even that is severely outdated >_<
