Walked up on a giant Turkey battle in Alban, hit it a few times, game seemed to lag (no inputs responding everyone motionless however I was still able to move) and then when trying to log back in all I get is "Server System Error". I've had zero issues since returning up until this point.

Anyone got any insight as to what might have happened/how I could remedy this or stop it from happening in the future?

Running a full check now to see if that fixes it. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like there's an issue with character logins. If you're still in-game, don't change character or disconnect for now. Issue has been reported to the Requiem Team.

This issue should be already fixed.
