IRO1 Classic Weekly Maintenance

December 6th, 2:00PM - 6:00PM PST

 

 

Events

  • Christmas 100% XP and Item drop bonus event continues!

Bugfixes

  • Mercury Riser should properly provide increased values when refined to the appropriate levels.
  • The Helm Of Abyss can now be worn by all jobs.

Quests

  • The next new Headgear quest, the Gemini Diadem (Tier 1), is available. Speak to Frank in Morocc (who has his own tent at 118, 93). Certificates can be found in the treasure caches.
    • To create this headgear you'll need the following:
      • 5 Gold
      • 25 2carat Diamonds
      • 125 3carat Diamonds
      • 500 Blue Gemstones
      • 1 Gemini Diadem Certificate

Spotlight

  • The spotlight switches to the Ice Dungeon!
    • The following creatures will be affected:

any plans to introduce kvm weapons? armors are cool and all but at this point weapons should be in. taking server size into consideration since the last major discussion i think taking a new poll would be a good idea.

Well you can definitely tell that ID3's gonna be populated. On a related note, I haven't checkes the KvM armors yet. Is KvM alive enough for us to earn points? Hugel's minigames aren't abd I needed it to finish some quest...

Great that the item description/job capability for Helm of Abyss is being changed.

Is there any way to distinguish which Kafra Doll Hats are account-bound or not? For example, my Sorin Doll Hat is stuck to an account, whereas Telling and Defolty Doll Hats are being traded and vended. Collecting all of those items to make a hat can be quite a task to find out the item is stuck to an account and can't be sold.

Server is open.

We have no intention, at this time, of adding KVM weapons. They can be pretty imbalancing.

Right now, the only way to earn KVM is using an MVP key on a treasure cache. With the cache level dictating how much KVM you get. I'm looking into getting a weekly/monthly quest that would also let you earn KVM.

Some hats have their trade restrictions in their description, some don't. It seems to depend on when they were written, and by whom.

KVM weapons are OP, it would not be good to place

 

Agree 100%, but I wouldl ike to put this out there...

 

The server is clearly divided between people that have a TON of gear and people that have nothing. For example, champs that I been coming across either can drop you even wearing GR or it is so bad that without a shield, gr or DR can be tanked. If KVM weapons are introduced the overpowered champs will continue to drop people even wearing GR but would give the less damage champs the chance to drop people that are not wearing the proper gear.

 

With that in mind, even though I believe it would be great to get that low end guys to a nice mid level I still believe KVM should be hard to get. The current KVM tokens that can only be only received by killing MvP or purchased from someone that killed MvP is great. Obviously I would like to continue helping the new people by making it available from minibosses at a lower rate. We the very geared people don`t usually care for minibosses. Only problem I see with this is the chance that bots would kill minibosses to farm keys. With that in mind, I propose to add a new key to minibosses that cannot be traded but can be stored in kafra. To prevent the use of bots then character transfer the keys I also would like to see the keys and KvM gear not be available for character transfer.

 

In addition, because KvM weapons are so overpowered it should cost the most. If the accessories are going for 900 we should be looking at 2,000-5,000 per weapon.

 

I would even go as far as making a new token and key entirely for the weapons. That have a lower chance to drop from MvP but have better drops like PvE only cards like pharoh, osiris, ktlanus, and even edga.

 

If the above gets implemented:

 

New players will have a chance against the current unbalanced WoE, MvP and even leveling (I have seen mob pullers get denied slot in party to wait for a edga puller that might not even show up)

Medium player will have a fighting chance against top tear god and mvp players.

Top players will have a challenge which right now, as shown in my videos, there is NONE.

The company will get players online to farm, getting more active users and better numbers, and possibly more money by selling buf, tokens, food and gum.

i don't see kvm weapons themselves being the big issue. back when kvm first came out it was supposed to take forever to get just one weapon let alone being able to get a +7 or higher but due to exploits with the way that system ran people were able to farm for weapons extremely fast.

 

I dont think we need new keys or tokens. some people have collected badges for months which should not be punished as they put in the time. I do agree that there should be more ways to get KVM badges for non mvpers. pushing seal quests, maybe from gsb and id3 and abyss turn in npc for completing 150 kill counts (more parties is always better) and im sure staff and community to come up with other ideas.

ice dungeon spotlight isn't very helpful because most parties there are not shared anyway. glad there's xmas bonus though.

KVM weapons are totally unbalanced, it won't give a chance for less geared players but will increase the gap between them and mvp/god items geared players

If ever kvm weapon will be implemented, I would put that on fishing event so its hard to get that kvm weapon

How exactly is a newb with a kvm weapon supposed to beat another player with a kvm weapons and 2x megs?
