Hello. Sorry I had to remove your screenshots. Posting names on the forums especially if it involves ill-mannered activity is not allowed. I strongly suggest for you to send a ticket about the incident to Support so that they can further help you out with that.

Copy/paste sprites - The series. You should file a ticket if you havent yet

Yeah, file a ticket, GM's should reverse the trade/deal with him because he is clearly scamming people on purpose by doing that. Also you're not allowed to do callouts on forums like that where their name/etc is visible, so inB4 cinnamod removes the screenies.

 

Also, it's really easy to change the sprites for stuff like that, don't see why GM's don't just do it to stop these common scams.

Edit: Blacksmith hammer or an anvil with blessing icon as background would make sense, look better and solve the same sprite issue at the same time, lol

Unless it has a different sprite on jRO or kRO it's not to be expected, re-use of sprites is unfortunately too common and causes these easy opportunities for people to scam. It could be requested though to get some of them changed, but that also requires there to be a sprite to change it to.

I didn't look super closely at the screenies but there was some "failed to pay the zeny w/e" errors so yeah, I think so. Probably some legit BSBs, but in zeny capped shops around a fakeout vend with same shop names (which were really long and obnoxious, probably to be hovered over more easily).

I remember years ago reset stone shared the same sprite with dark crystal fragment. a lot of players got scammed too so they changed the color of reset stone. I guess that should be an easy fix until they get a totally different sprite for it

They could make an item sprite pretty easily or edit an existing one, extremely simple thing to do. Should hold a little forum contest or something to get some of the items that re-use sprites their one new ones or something.

I am really sorry to hear about that. This is clearly a scam attempt. For proper assistance you will have to contact the GM staff with detail of the incident so they are able to help you and possibly reverse the transaction for you.

In case you are posting for a friend, please forward this message to them as the ticket must be sent from the owner of the account with the issue.

As for taking advantage of a sprite in means to scam, this is not new. I will share the screenshots with the community managers and iRO staff but till anything happens if at all, I'd suggest that you all read the item name and description properly before purchasing.
