How to tank MVP EQ as an AB in ET? Always die one shot one kill. Should I just hide in the corner and ress killer and go hide again? Thank in advance for any input.

Only ways I know of to completely negate damage is equipping a GTB carded shield or if the map allows it then could bringing a Stalker and cast Maelstrom under the boss (never tried this myself) or lastly bringing a Sorcerer and using the skill Insignia to change the element of the monster and wear the same element armor as the casted Insignia (also never personally tried this).

As EQ damage is divided by every target you could bring some alts to stand around or more easily bring a mercenary or homunculus which take will a hit or two before dieing usually.

Maelstrom must be placed on the character's feet, not monster.

Insignia doesnt need you to use any specific armor, but the insignia element change must match an element wich the monster is resistant/immune to.


Alternatively, you can build ""dodge"" for it with single target magic reflect, like Maya card and similar effects. It's rng but you may live.

Thanks those suggestions are really neat! I never knew sorc skill can be used like that. I was scared of needing to buy expensive equip but if leveling another char could do the trick then all I need is time (and little bit of patience).

I m gonna need to do some homework on the mvps stat but so far, level 2 insignia of fire element should suffice. Since I always have a hard time in ifrit and valk. Though tanking valk is another story though since she dispell.

Since I m slow in leveling, in the mean time, I m gonna borrow/save up for ghost armor and bring mercenary next time.

valk can be tricky if she uses ganbantein and it removes the insignia, but technically you can fully negate all of her damage with 1 gear+ 2 skills: Holy element armor + wind insignia lv2 + Ventus lv2 Defense Mode.(thats with the sorc tanking ofc)

Ifrit is the only mvp in et that i died when tanking as ab...
I wasnt able to survive in that eq in a two man party.
I heard that eq is a three phases attack, is it possible to make enoughg dmg reduction that i can survive by spaming high heal?

I can survive from valk cuz she never got the chance to cast eq lol

if you don't die from each hit, your best shot is to ygg berry/seed through it(or similar items)

Bring mercenary, get your friend to bring and summon homunculus. More units to absorb the damage, it's pottable  via berries/seeds
