So, I am just not wanting to do cart cannon all the way up to max level, would Crazy Vines be a good alternative? If this is possible how would it be done?

2. CV is earth element only.
3. CV has 5s cooldown.
Conclusion:
1. Not really good enough alternative.
2. It's doable but super slow.

Damage would be pretty inconsistent considering it hits random areas in a 5x5 within the greater AoE. There's nothing special you could get that adds damage to the skill either so its pretty much all the same gear you would use for CC. Plus its a bit easier to get cannon balls than thorny seeds.
Cast time is fully variable so I would just count that as instant with all the stat increases we have now.

I just thought it would be interesting to be a plant type of geneticist thematically,
but it has absolutely no gear support (in the way that cart cannon does), and otherwise contains those flaws as mentioned. I guess I should shelve the idea.

You can try to level with Spore explosion now as a plant gene while waitig for that crazy vine item (if it comes). Already have all the OCP gears for it.

At least this skill has great AOE (11*11), add up to 2000%+ after OCP skill buff, and have no fixed element like crazy vine. But it also has same 5second CD.

Ah, for some reason I missed reading information about that hat. It seems that by wearing it and having all the right points in the right skills, it would remove the cooldown and cast time problems.
But it was mentioned that the earth element is also a weakness of the skill, why is that?
