Can't open items

Hi! 

I am unable to open my items or inventory. 

When I hit Alt + E nothing happens. 
All other commands work. 

When I click the item icon instead of using the command it won't open either. 

I tried reinstalling, fixing, and also changing the shortcut but nothing works. 

any ideas?

Hello,

It is possible that you are close or over the capacity/weight limit. A character may only hold up to 100 unique items in their inventory at all times.

Thanks for the reply! I have 50% overweight but I'm defintievely not holding 100 different items :S

See if lowering the weight helps. 

 

Also may we know what kind of item you are attempting to open?

Thanks! 

I used some potions and now I have normal weight, still won't open the inventory. You know how when you press ALT + E the items show up? That's what doesn't work. but ALL other commands do, such as ALT + S or ALT + V. 

Clicking on the item icon below the character lvl won't open it either. 

:(

Which server do you play on?

Can we have a screenshot showing your UI?

 

You will need to share the screenshot through an image host service such as Imgur.

If manual clicking on the icon does nothing then, I'd suggest performing a reinstall. Also this is RE:Start subsection of the forums, it is no problem :) I will move this to the correct section soon.

Before we start, please create a backup of your game client folder, store it somewhere else safe.

 

Instructions:

Assuming that you have performed a fresh install using the official release from this page, follow the steps described below carefully.

For better results, please avoid skipping any step.

 

Experimental fix for Renewal client repatch issue:

  • Before starting, ensure that your internet is capable of downloading big files without interruption. If on metered type connection, make sure that you have enough download allowance for the month/day.
  • Restart your device.
  • Clear Internet Explorer cache, if you don't know how please check Appendix #2 in this post.
  • Make sure Ragnarok Online.exe and Ragexe.exe are set to run as an admin all the time, if using dedicated antimalware/antivirus programs make sure the same are white-listed from the active scans.
  • Download patch files pack from this link, unzip and place the content in your installation folder.
    • If using normal client the default location is C:\Gravity\Ragnarok Online.
    • If on Steam, to reach default location: While being on Steam library, right click Ragnarok game title, choose properties, then click on Local Files tab, use the Browse Local Files option to reach the folder directory. When prompted to replace existing files say YES.
      Note: The installation folder will have all of the game files such as Ragexe.exe and Setup.exe.
  • Launch the game patcher like normal to process the patch files.

 

Do keep in mind, this is experimental. If it failed on the first try go for another round.

Thanks for taking the time to help me out. 

I have tried that three times in the exact order and it's still not working for me :(
Changing the shortcut doesn't work either. Also the combination ALT + E does work on any other app from my pc, so it doesn't seem to be a keyboard config issue but rather a problem with the item box on the interface. 

 

If you have any more input I'll certainly appreciate it

At what point you were able to open the inventory? Looking at the screenshot, I see that you have items assigned to the skill/item bar.

I was able to use the inventory for a week (when I created the account), I assigned the items to the F bars when the item window was working. 

Something I tried yesterday was to install another server and test and I had the exact same issue with that server. Everything works except for the item window. 

I am thinking it might be a problem with a patch or a missing/incorrect file. But even when I uninstall RO I always also delete all the folders under "Gravity"

Do you have another device to test this on? You can copy-paste iRO folder without the need to install, though I'd suggest a fresh installation if possible.

If the issue only occurs on your current device, then try to remove anything new you have installed (if applicable) from the last time the inventory worked fine, including any other RO server, such servers may conflict with the official client.

 

Other than what's been suggested this far, I would be out of ideas :(
