I wanted to quickly check iRO after years of absence and I was greeted by this:

The procedure entry point MiniDumpWriteDump could not be located in the dynamic link library. C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvspcap.dll

:ani_shy:

Both classic and renewal clients have the issue. Reinstall doesn't fix it.

Win 10

GTX 1080 Ti

Driver version 418.91

GeForce Experience installed

File nvspcap.dll is part of Nvidia GeForce Experience, it is suggested to remove GeForce Experience then reinstall the latest available version appropriate to your system.

I already reinstalled GeForce experience prior to posting this thread. Unfortunately removing GFE entirely is not an option for me because I use shadowplay a lot.

Normal uninstallation process may not remove all related files.

I'd highly suggest using DDU to perform a fresh reinstall to Nvidia driver files and GFE.

DDU can be found here.

https://www.guru3d.c...r-download.html

I cannot guarantee this will work but it is worth the try.

Getting the same exact error on my end too, I will test this method as soon as I can.

While the error persists, I am able to launch the game and log in fine.

Edit:
On my end, testing a fresh install using DDU did not resolve the issue, the error persists.

Some other games are experiencing that same error, one was recently mentioned on Nvidia official forums here. So far, the error occurs on Renewal, Re:Start and Classic iRO clients, except Sakray client. If I am not mistaken, Sakray client does not have the windows compatibility custom fix. I will consult with the staff and create a bug report shortly.

A google search reveals removing or renaming* (preferred) the file dbghelp.dll found in your Ragnarok game folder resolves the error.

*(e.g, dbghelp.dll_old)

Just wanna say that I was having this problem just now following an OS re-install, and that fixed it for me. Thanks Cinnamod <3.

cannot init d3d or grf file has a problem. Only happens when the resolution is at  2160 or higher. I have three monitors. But I use to get that even using 1920 1080 32.

C:\Windows\System32\nvspcap.dll The procedure entry point minidumpwritedump could not be located in the dynamic link libraray

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Setup for ragranok: Regardless any resolution from ragnarok setup, changing the graphics settings, going to the options none of them worked

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Setup_Classic: resolution, only could see it after you installed the game after that.. resolution Disappeared. Full screen mode does not work at all

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is what I tried.

I found a post on here about using a file that cleans your nvidia and geforce. As uninstall and cleaning the registry..
I uninstall ragnarok.

I found a file online that I can just download nvspcap.dll.

None of that even worked.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So my 1080ti nvidia extreme edition. I can't play at all anymore expect the mobile version

Hello LordKeith

Please try the suggested solutions in order as posted below.

  • Configure compatibility mode for Setup.exe if playing on Renewal servers or Setup_Classic.exe if playing on Classic.
Steps are found under solution #6 here. Once that's done launch the appropriate Setup exe to your server then adjust the settings.
  • Make sure that the resolution is not set too high, unfortunately, RO does not support high resolution. See point #7 here.
  • Switch between full and windowed mode.
  • Latest Nivida graphic drivers cause an issue with older games e.g Ragnarok, a temporary solution is to use an older driver or follow desired solution posted here.

If the issue persists, please let us know what step did you try and what's not so we can help you further.

It looks like latest Nvidia driver release (419.67) and latest GeForce Experience update resolve the issue. If on Windows 10, make sure that your system is up to date as well.

cool awesome I'll try now

Ragnarok works

however classic isn't.

check mark full screen: cannot init d3d Or grf file has problem

When I unclick full screen I get a very tiny screen showing (barley) ngitions may induce pre.

Setup _classic

Direct3D hal

Direct3d t&l hal

nvidia geforce gtx 1080 ti

nvidia geforce gtx 1080 ti

nvidia geforce gtx 1080 ti

nvidia geforce gtx 1080 ti

nvidia geforce gtx 1080 ti

nvidia geforce gtx 1080 ti

Resolution blank

I get the same graphic settings none classic. However I can change the screen size. It seems when I go to 3840 2160 I see this on ragnarok. However if I put 1920 1080 I do not see that error. But on classic regardless what I do.

update on setup_classic. I uninstall the game then reinstall. I clicked the setup_classic, I was able to see the resolution. I change it to 1980 by default. I clicked the game and it works.

But what if they have a monitor that is over 40 inch? Do they have to lower the resolution. I mean doesn't seem fair and the part is I can't max on my three monitors.
