Hero Set
- should be used with Gelerdria, Crimson Spear, Posion Forged Spear, Crimson lance & Glorious Spear

-don't use Imperial Spear and Ring

-better damage than Nature Dress for Humans

Old Detachment Ring

-should be used with Crimson Spear/Lance , Poison Forged Spear, Thanatos Spear and Glorious Spear

-don't use with Imperial Spear & Ring, Imperial Glove is better with those.

 

TLDR
-only use Imperial Spear and Ring with Abyss Dress

Phoenix Circlet is pretty damn good for OB, wich is your best AoE dps when properly supported :T

thats why ashuckel said properly supported aka strings, OB deals a pretty nasty damage if you can spam it

justed tested +10 Phoenix Circlet vs +14 Old Casket Mettle 3.

Old Casket does better damage.. while having 140% more CS damage, a card slot, +2 aspd and +50 ATK.

phoenix circlet gives defense pierce so it’s meant to free up the imperial boots slot so you can use temporal ring+ SOL STR boots for easier OB spam.

It’s catered specifically for OB only. If you maximize around it, it is definitely better than old casket for OB, but it’s not gonna be easy. I doubt most will want to waste the effort on this when CS/VP works just as well or even better and don’t require extreme items. On party play in bio4 or sth, strings can definitely let the OB build turn into some monster dps easily tho

Yup, Phoenix won’t be a new meta. Over all, our current set up is better. Glad we got a meh headgear

But Old Casket can have Kiel so that evens out Phoenix' DEF Pierce.

It's never good to be focused only on OB. It's almost a non AOE skill cause its too small and narrow.
And yeah, in PvM, where exactly would you use OB spam when most of the time, it will push the targets away? Maybe in Bio4 and Bio5, but Randel gets in the way with his reflect plus VP doing better DPS even vs spammed OB. You also pointed this out too.

 

Even in ET, I find using Cannon Spear and VP clears the mob faster than having to wait and make them align so you could hit all of them with OB.

People who don't want RG to get stronger will try their best to jusitfy Phoenix Circlet but in reality, it's a second class citizen compared to Old Casket. It's true buff is to make Inspiration faster to reuse and get rid of OB delays.
