As a returning player, I've been researching about these new equipments to uptade my chars, and I've come to this doubt:

 

Why is Abusive Robe so much more expensive than Mighty Black Threaded Armor?

 

Both have slots,

MBTA has a higher defense bypass that work on all races, +80 atk and provide all these bonuses at a lower refine rate

Abusive Robe enables improve concentration lvl 1, and has the possibility of Enchants that may provide +10-18 stat and +10-18% atk/matk/ranged when over refined

 

Are the enchant bonuses so much better than +80atk and higher bypass on endgame gear?

Is defense bypass so easy to come by and as such you don't need it from armor?

To put it simple, you must collect friggin 1200 tokens to obtain abusive armor and a lot of tokens to enchant it.

 

Meanwhile MBTA has abundant supply from OCP and people prefer to use other armor to obtain bonus damage or leech such as Abyss dress, Evil Dragon Armor, or Flame Dragon armor because they believe PDM is enough for bypass defense.

The reason is much to do with the state of the game: the game is old and there's not a lot new players who will need the might black armor.

 

Most endgame players do not need the defense pierce from the mighty armor since they have better options like PDM, BSG etc... OR they are using classes that got nothing to do with defene (gene, DB RK, GX, RG). Once the defense pierce is not the priority, no matter what enchant you choose, the effect almost always more desirable than 80atk.

 

*as a returning player, it is good news for you though. Mighty armor makes for a very good mid tier armor before you get to the stage you will want str2/3 etc enchants.

tldr; abusive enchants are better in 90% of the cases yes

even str enchants? doesn't seem worth the price considering you have FDA, nature and abyss plus switching for elemental armors

str enchant 5+ abusive is definitely much stronger than FDA for classes who use weapon with high base atk. Stuff like JDR, lindy, hurricane fury etc... It is much more expensive though.

 

Might not make a big diff for crimson weapon users and genes though, since its weapons with base atk <200. Although, gene will want dex5+.

dont underestimate base weapon attack scaling, aand status atk for any non sinX class

Gears that give 100% Def Bypass are everywhere now and it’s almost like a free package.

For example, RG either Inperial Boots or Phoenix headgear gives 100% Def Bypass already. They are also top tier to almost best in slots, for Foottwear and Headgear respectively.

Now for the armor, MBA is alright but it’s far from the best. It only gives 70% (If I remember correctly?) while there are many other better Armors and best to certain different situation (Abyss dress, Nature dress, Heaven dress, etc). On top of that, MBA was a common gear from OCP. Supply was ovealded.

at least for flash combo, and due to the defense piercing penalties of the main genetic skills, MBTA is actually a pretty solid substitute for a brynhild. i tossed a pecopeco card in mine and it pretty much is a bryn now, for flash combo purposes. i havent sampled it anywhere else, but i can vouch for MBTA putting out roughly the same damage as a bryn would for either CC, AB, or flash combo (given the gearsets that i use, anyway)

these days though, everything is situational like a MF. use one armor in one place but that armor is outdone by another armor in some other place. people say abusive still wins as an all-around armor, but i dont own one anymore and dont care about owning one either. as far as im concerned, nature dress, abyss dress, MBTA, HTM, and med scrubs serve my RO gaming purposes quite nicely for armors, and i have no intention of going after abusive or flattery ever again lol.

ive also been hearing about a lot more dupe cases involving abusive robes lately, compared to people trying to dupe the OCP gear. i mean im sure it exists, or can exist, for any item, but dupers definitely aren't short-changing abusive robes on their lists.
