Not sure if it's really a bug, but I couldn't find changes in forums.
As I remember analyze element (sorcerer's skill) downgraded n elemental stones into n*(random number from 6 to 10).
Today I've tried to downgrade some, but output quantity wasn't in that range: 28 stones from 9 and 3-5 per one stone.
