IRO Wiki states that using Tera LV1 - Defensive Mode should give 2k HP and DEF (BRO Wiki says it's +100% DEF), but using the skill it only gives the HP.
Without any elemental:
Spirit Control LV 1 (+5% HP)
Spirit Control LV 2 (2k HP but no DEF)
Call Tera LV1 - Defensive Mode

as a rule of thumb on RO, percentage increases do not show on your status window
