On my end, I didn’t mind the gears that came in. For the time being I have been re-rolling them from grandma boxter and not paying.
There’s always a basic gear set up to then go level up with the many quests and bounty boards available, all chars can clear a certain bounty board and or party at gramps.
Having to level up without depending on a fully geared character and gearing with silversmith bracelets, variant shoes, round buckler, basic GSS and Orleans uniform/whatever other armor you can build you way up,
There’s a lot of market things a newbie can play into, bounty boards for EMB and some pocket zeny, elus and oridecons for refining armors and weapons and turning them in for safe certs with ear gear mimic,
You can run ET for MVPs, OCAs and MCAs in instances retain their value.
I pulled 2 GR And Elvira from OCAs as well, you can compete for queen scaraba for drops that go to eve Natalia, naght seiger swords for safe certs,
You can get zeny and re roll for the OCP gears because people support the server and there’s always items from OCP boxes to buy and re roll from grandma boxter.
It isn’t a matter of OCP items breaking the game or not, it’s that people depend on them without a progression and it just instantly feels like everyone can solo everything.
At least iro offers different things that work for their market, again at the end of it all you can solo everything with all those gears but there’s no single way to play RO. Each official is different and by far I felt like iro was more accesible to any and all players.
Im sure not everyone feels that way but this has been my experience, no need for another server, just need to get the hang of playing RO and understanding what this market runs on and what sells.
If you want something related to F2P then push for stuff like infinite space, ogh hard, gmt enchants, they aren’t so bad. But at the end of the day those OCP gears really give RO a different spice, make other builds viable and some ingame gears won’t give you the stuff that OCP or kRO shadow gears give you, like 100% DEF bypass or MDEF bypass. Well, kRO will, but at a price, over here on iro you can just re roll from grandma boxter after a good enough amount of hard work, or pay for it. You’re paying for entertainment at the end of the day anyway.
