The available guidelines are likely outdated but see the following post:

I've use 'wine-3.13 (Staging)' (without install any library) and play without any problems. Also I set 'Enable CSMT' in the tab Staging in winecfg.

Can someone help me I got off Ubpoopoo and I'm on MXLinux based on Devian, I wasusing Devuan but it's like Devuan is stripped down too much or too "light" to run RO. I'm on MXLinux does anyone know how I can get this game to work in it? If I have problems I'll go to MXLinux Forums in the meantime but just wondering if anyone could do a tutorial on how to get this to work.

I am indeed downloading the Ragnarok_Installer.MSI and the Meta1.cab and Meta2.cab files and see if I can just:
wine RO.msi
it.
