I juat want to give a big welcome to the Restart and Classic players. I'm juat glad the staff did not let your efforts go in vein. Hope you'll have a good time in Chaos even though the people here are quite chaotic.

I think its great that servers are dying left and right, its about time this game shuts down completely tbh. kRO has showed their customers, especially those in the west who proved to be loyal and willing to spend a lot of money, that they are willing to treat them like dog-_-, refuse any kind of communication, leaving western servers 5 years++ behind in content for no apparent reason, treating their teams in the US and EU like 2nd rate humans that just should do their bidding, which they willingly do.

 

The EU ban with the pathetic compensation, which didnt even get paid to everyone, no way of getting transd to euRO, ANYTHING was another proof of that, just garbage behaviour of a company.

The fact that they mostly recycle old mobs and maps and call it content is another, the fact that they just accept that bots and dupes and other abuses contaminates their games for 15years+ and they dont do crap against it (unlike pservers, which makes it even more sad), in a game that requires people to invest thousands of hours and was highly competetive at a point, making any player that actually invests that kind of time without cheating feel like an idiot.

About freaking time they get punished for their lack of care and incompetence.

i dont really get how some of you (you know who you are, people) can lay down all of these false claims about who does this, which server does that, how X works, etc, when you dont even play. some of you are most definitely retired but still spouting off nonsense about which server is better or 'who started that'. IE: you few have now attained that 'forum troll' title, which really discludes you from even being in this thread.

also, lets be clear. the majority of trash-talkers for that whole annoying chaos VS thor thing mostly comes from WoE kids trash talking each other, which is quite amusing honestly because you cant even settle your ridiculous disputes against each other since you arent in the same server. keep quiet about all of that BS because you're just de-railing the topic and confusing more people with your own personal opinions/BS. most pvm players dont behave anywhere near the threshold of insanity that you woe types tend to hold it down at, so take your toxicity and keep it to your damn selves because we dont want to hear it.

and finally, to anyone cool-headed enough, someone want to lay out the pros and cons of this merge? a buddy tells me that basically what it boils down to is that you can have extra accounts attached to your warpportal account which makes transferring characters easier/more spacious. i'm not hearing anything about actual character slots being added to any accounts though. that about right?

I think it's hard to see a Pros side to this when an actual server is, in fact, getting closed down.
Yes, it's a "merge", but that's nothing more than "we're taking the contents of this box and mixing it in the other boxes so we can throw that box away".

If all the ragnarok online servers would be compared to a naval fleet, it becomes clearer to see that you're not supposed to celebrate when another ship goes down.

This also shows why it's incredibly stupid, to the point of actual immaturity, to do these "server vs server" or "woo u have less pop hurr durr", "close dat server when" arguments.
