There was a pvp server like 8 or 10 years ago that was pretty much all about PvP. High drop rate to get ur stuff together fast get ur char to max lvl and people were in custom PvP rooms most of the time, basic ones that are there can work, but since they removed old payon they kinda suck, just itzlude is passable, the rest are way to big and not that much room to abuse to get out of line of sight to avoid getting casted/sniped on.
It was pretty active if I remember correctly, not super much, maybe 500-800 people depending on time, but with a bot protection so these were mostly player, some vends.
The grind has become unbareable to most people on iRO that start new, spending mutliple hundreds to thousands of hours to catch up to long plying people when most end game content is dead or almost dead is something only very few people will consider, either people who have no idea what they get themselves into or those that played RO before in their life and just dont care how bad their gear is compared to others, hoping that they can join high end content with people who have mercy or just arent interested in high end party play and just grind for themselves.
Wouldnt hurt to try it out at least, could implement some PK maps like payon cave dun01 where people zerg each other.
Should consider to make it non renewal, PvP was so much more fun back in the days, at least to quite some classes imo. Dont know how pvp is with renewal, I rarely ever saw people in PvP, didnt look to much for it as I focused on PvM on iRO myself. My PvP days were back on chaos and the private server mentioned above, its long dead.
