There is no democracy involved in who I chose to be a Forum Moderator. I know how limited their powers are (to prevent possible abuse), I know how long I have worked with both of them in a trust relationship. I reached out to every RO website admin I could and only Wiki and Doddlers decided to engage in 2 way communication. If they were to go nuts and abuse their power it would be easy to see, and they would lose the trust I have in them.
I really have no idea what has you all in a tizy, they can't ban people, they can mark a post for moderation until a staff member either agrees and really deletes it or puts it back to view status.
Our goal is to allow the community to better interact here, we have 3 games now, but that will be changing in the future and more community members are welcome to help out. The old forums didn't have the ability to parse out different access levels very well, we chose this forum solution as we can be more precise and offer escalated powers in a controlled manner.
If you really donâ??t know what the tizzy is about I suggest you go back and re-read the posts, your choice to put a player in this roll contradicts what you have said in the past about favoritism to players. Some of us don't care who the player is, if itâ??s not universal to the general population, itâ??s showing favoritism, this is setting a president to say that gravity will brake the rules when every it suits them, If you tell that to your players, it shows lack of professionalism.
The fact that this player is part of the Valk Guild and was directly responsible for the bug abuse mentioned, this has opened debate amongst the IRO players that this may or not have been part of past reasons the GMs did not disband Valk Guild for the major bug abuse issues that have been over looked. This may or may not be true but its sure starting to look like it is true.
When the Moderators start deleting posts because the topic is discussed in an il-favored light, that makes it look even worse.
