Hi,

 

is there a list of "must have" gear? Like for any class, equips that are good in most situations (leveing and farming at least).

 

Ex: I was leveling using a friend's Catherina von Blood and a CD in the Mouth... and it's ridiculous how easy things became...

It depends a lot on what class/ types of classes you play, as "must have", or at least decently shareable gear can vary vastly.

for the most part, something that can make a great impact on any class you play are for example:

- a set of carded shields for each race, generaly the race reduction cards arent very expensive, so you can just grab any cheap slotted shield to have a very cost effective reduction source

- an Alice carded shield, for once you start engaging more with MVPs and boss monsters in general

- a Deviling carded garment, it offers great reduction against the most common source of damage in the game, autoattacks. A variety of skills are also reduced, but be carefull that some others may be boosted by the elemental resistance penalty

 

- Elemental armors on the elements of fire, water, wind, and an undead one. Use these to defend yourself against most elemental attacks, it is also great to offset the Deviling penalty to a given element. Undead makes you immune to shadow/undead/poison element damage,stone curse and frozen status ailments, but be carefull with the increased damage to fire, a very common type of damage, and the party play penalties such element gives you(it blocks at lot of priest skills)

 

- Randel carded garment. Toy Syringe is the "big boy" option, as it allows most classes/builds to have a constant boost to the healing effects of Slim potions without sacrificing an important gear slot. Garment cards are generaly very powerfull to give up, or you just don't want to card say a damage oriented piece of gear with this card wich is for mostly recovery. You can however card this into another garment and just gear swap to it occasionally, fill al your hp, the swap back to your main piece of equipment.

these will probably make the most impact for the least amount of money. There are many more case and class specific gears that are tremendously powerfull, but listing everything that could be remotely usefull would result in listing almost every gear in existance. If there's any type of gear for a set of classes that you're looking just speak up.

Great lists so far but what I consider essential for a new player to get especially if they want to share gear between classes is the following. Also tried to put them in order of what I'd get if I were restarting myself now

 

Costume Goggles - gives 30% more exp.

Any shield that you slot with the appropriate 30% less from Race cards for the area you're playing in - not dying is good.

Heroic Backpack - recommend slotted with Raydric.

Toy Syringe - Improve recovery from condensed whites you buy from NPC.

Catherina Von Blood - reduce SP item use.

Evil Dragon Armour - reduce HP item use.

Either elemental armor or any armor slotted with the elemental granting cards - can make or break your leveling on some maps.

Decent armor slotted with a Marc card - more helpful on bosses but comparatively cheap.

Shield slotted with Alice card for bosses - other part needed for fighting bosses.

Mob Scarf - usually BiS for magic classes and very strong buffs on most other classes.

Perverse Demon Mask - great for reaching instant cast or bypassing defense depending on your class needs.

Any garment slotted with Deviling card - expensive but helpful for tanking later on.
