i'm currently having a hard time killing samurai specter and pharaoh in ET. shadow mvp until 50. can only max 1 other skill outside of DB.

 

was thinking of using a different skill since I recently got sera coro/dwing. i'm a pure DB RK and just reset my stats so it could be changed a bit.

 

already looked into using crush strike, but i dont have the money and gears for that right now. unless there's a cheap option?

 

for now, i was thinking of (gears i have)

 

+9Black Ribbon (if IB) or ?? for HS??

Seraphim Coronet / DWING

+9MBTA/ +7d armor+ +9boots for atk??

PDM (might add 36 luk just to get 100% def pierce with mbta or higher if gloves) + blacksmith gloves (if using D wing )??

weapon?? i got some glorious weapons for demi-human, but not overupgraded.

 

other gears might just be aiming for atk+ or ?? rg shield ss1 buff.

 

any suggestions??

What’s your current DB gears? Honestly the damage boost to DB makes it so powerful that shadow monster shouldn’t really pose a problem even with 50% damage. Especially since it’s just samurai specter and pharaoh, which isn’t worth spending additional funds to gear up for (basically no reward).

Anyway, if we were to consider just about DB secondary skills, Crush strike/crit isn’t the only option. It’s just the one best suited to kill Randgris. Other viable options include:

1. Bash with 2 toy rings
2. Ignition break/sonic wave (with ORC or black ribbon)
3. Clashing Spiral.

Of the 3 other methods, Clashing spiral has the lowest DPS of the 3 but is the only one that ignores agi up and requires least change of gears. After all, Clashing Spiral similarly scales off ACD and ranged boost.

Also, Hundred Spears shouldn’t really be considered a main damage option until we get illusion pole axe atm. The CD is too long

if you just get a good enough highly upgraded lv4 weapon you can already achieve very respectable CS damage. You can force a criticial attack by using Counter Attack, crit rate isnt needed at all.

+9 MBTA plus 2 toy rings for bashing holy 4 monsters might work for shadow (i guess)

 

btw what is your DB gears? with almost 200k DB damage shadow monsters is not a problem thought

well, it's not a maxed RK, 144 right now. was dealing around 30k dmg per hit which takes a long time.

i guess i can change some gears now. didnt have RBDH before, i just got a +8 recently. never tried it yet. dont think it will change the damage too much would it??

 

is this still better than using a secondary skill??

oh thats why, simply enjoy that ET level and let them savor your defeat for the moment. go focus on leveling, farming is easy up stairs.

You can buy a pororoca shoes to cast deluge under your RK and switch back to temporal boots. It gives you a flat +20% increase

land skills add their values to the elemental table resistance value the target has. Shadow 1 takes 50% from water, with deluge 5 it adds another 20 to it, making it take 70% damage from water, effectively a 1.4x damage boost in this case. This can be used to hit monsters otherwise immune to the element (ie: holy4 takes 0% from water, with deluge it starts taking 20% of it), and boost damage in general, with effectiveness varying acording to the target elemental table.

pororoca shoes is quite hard to find now tho. Honestly your best option now is to go level up. DB RK scales very hard on stats and level. Especially from the 150-175 area, the SP gain is huge. I reckon with your same build at just lvl160 your db won’t be 30k+ but already almost 50k, and 70k with rbdh.

is pororoca useful for DB RKs?? it's pretty expensive, but can still be found. i can try it in the future if it is useful for DB RKs.

 

for now, i'll stick to potting and level up i guess.

yes, it’s very useful actually. If you have even one friend with you for ET next time, you can finish it with pororoca to kill valk without needing to swap to crush strike. Just get your friend to tank for you while you spam water db on a deluge landfield.

I've been playing with max DB RK on sakray and shadow MVP's are just easy as any other non-holy ones. It's definitely because of your level

Bowling Bash , Ignition Break  combo is nice 

 

Toy Ring not only boosted Bash  but Bowling Bash too    

 

 chaining between  BB>IB  getting better    this combo is nice for cleaning  Holy / Shadow 3-4  Mobs / MVP
