Hello! I'm a returning player and I need a bit of advice.

 

So, I'm trying to equip my lvl130 Gene for MVP and leveling and I only have ~3b. I've done some research on what gear I should get, but I have no idea what I should be prioritizing with my budget.

 

Current gear:

 

Headgear - +8 Cylinder Headband (no card) // +9 Evil Marching Hat // +9 Abysmal Knight Helm

Mid - Takius Blindfold

Lower - Toy Syringe

Armor -  Various Glittering jackets and Orleans's Gown w/ elemental cards

Weapon - +9 Triple Kingbird Twin Edge

Shield - +4 Resistant Valkyrja shield // +4 Valkyrja Shield of Royal Guard (I'm working on getting racial Valk shields)

Garment - +9 Immune HBP

Shoes - Variant shoes // +7 Shackles

Accessories - Carefree AB Ring (my AB's ring lol) // Bloodied shackle ball // occasionally phen card accessory

 

I also have another KBC without a home.

 

Desired Gear:

 

Seraphim Coronet

Chemical Glove w/ Gold Scaraba or KBC

+9 Medical Scrubs (that I can share w/ my AB) or something else idk

+9 - +12 Excelion shield

PDM w/ Gold Scaraba or KBC

+9 Triple Liberation Twin Edge

+12 Mad Bunny Special (to share w/ my AB)

+9 FAW w/ EA enchants  (I have a +9 FAW w/ Spell enchants. Is it tradeable for EA enchants or are EA enchants more expensive?)

 

That's not all I plan to get, but I need advice on what I should be prioritizing. I feel like I should probably get the Seraphim Coronet first because it's available in the current OCP. I was thinking the price of it will probably go up once they change the OCP. Is that a false assumption?

 

If I don't go for the Seraphim first, then I honestly have no clue where to start. I kinda want something I can share with my AB, but that's not my biggest priority.

 

If you have any other suggestions, I would be more than happy to hear them. I want to spend my budget on gear that will help me earn more Zeny. If you have any Zeny earning tips, I would also be interested in hearing them lol.

Temp Dex boots with RM EA + temporal ring is a huge boost, you should put those on ur list. I would start off by getting a temp dex BP EA and 2x Chemical Gloves tho and maybe a deviling hbp.

Thanks! That's really helpful! I'm a super indecisive person, so I was kinda lost on what to get for now. You've given me a good direction to go.

 

Do you think I should I put my spare KBC in one of the Chemical gloves for now or should i save it for the temporal ring? Or should I just sell it lol

In the long run getting the Seraphim Coronet now is best. Works amazingly well on AB if you combo with Seraphim Feather and like you said it is in the box this month so no better time to get it.

After a Seraphim getting the 40 int from Temp Dex Boots with Runaway Magic and Temporal Ring combo will be the most noticeable damage improvement. For AB they have two really good boots (Pilgrim and Punishment) so Temp boot/ring doesn't usually surpass those two options but most other classes benefit greatly from Temporal combo.

Thirdly getting a PDM helps to getting to instacast so much you should look into getting but for AB it doesn't help too much in most cases.

As far as making money just get into a habit of doing instances every day. Better ones for money being OGH, Faceworm, and ET but also can do The Royal Banquet quests in Prontera Castle and sell the Abusive Robes, Flattery Robes, and RG Shields once a month for a decent payday.

For your KBC this is not a good time to sell it since they're actively dropping from raffle now. With that said you're better off getting gear now rather than waiting for the card's price to go back. Being better able to earn zeny by completing instances will make you much more than the price difference for the card once the raffle ends unless you're waiting 6 months.

Thank you so much for the detailed response! I just bought a Chemical Glove, but I still have enough for a Seraphim Coronet so I'll get that next. I'll also probably get the feather for my AB eventually. Then I'll save for the Temp combo. I don't have 120 dex yet so that can wait a little. +7 Pilgrim shoes were the first thing I bought for my AB when I returned lol. I might put those on my Gene until I can get the dex boots. Not as useful on a gene, but at least they're better than normal variants. I think I'll hold off on getting the PDM for a little bit.

 

I've done ET before, but the rest are new to me. Thanks! I'll definitely try them and look into other instances. I'll wait and see how well I can do the instances before I sell my KBC. I wish I had returned to the game a little sooner so I could have sold it for more lol

KBC isnt impactfull unless you are stacking ele resistances, or something is 1shotting you and the card would prevent it. Otherwise, it serves very little purpose for most characters.

Try to make Ghost Palace instance, Thanatos Hammer is a good leveling weapon plus it's a hammer so will never break.

I got my Mad Bunny Special from refining it myself so you don't have to waste so much zeny buying from someone else.

Sera Coronet is one of the best investments as well as getting the FAW if you can afford those.

Okay, then I will probably sell it. If I get to the point where I need a KBC, I'll just borrow the one I have on my AB. I'll put Gold Scaraba in my accessories. Unless there's a better card? Thanks!

As for refining the Mad Bunny, I have terrible luck getting anything to +12. I would really like the uninterruptible cast for my AB and Gene so I could play around with their gear a little more. I have some left over enriched and HD elu from past refining attempts, so I might try my hand at it.

 

I managed to buy a Seraphim Coronet for 1.7b, so I'm pretty happy with that purchase. I've still got ~1b to spend. The EA FAW is a little unobtainable for me right now unless I can trade or sell my Spell 7/6/6 FAW. I'm a little unsure on the pricing of those though or if they are equivalent. I'll have to do some more research on that.

KBC > GS because 20 atk is maybe a 2% atk increase and -1% max HP opposed to 10-20% elemental resistance; which while not mandatory to survive, makes things a lot easier. Especially considering the OP said they are using valk shields, 20% from 2x KBC + 20% Valk Shield + 30% Jakk or Marse and you are well on your way to full immunity. Unless the 2% attack increase will save you an extra skill cast to complete a kill faster it is much better to survive easier. Realistically you will only be putting KBC on your main because they are too expensive to just use as default when GS is a perfectly viable alternative for less than half the price. Since my account has 10 Genetics on it it makes sense to put KBC on my Genetic accessories and GS on my other random classes like Mech and Wanderer. Either way the KBC is the kind of thing thats nice to have if you already have it, but sucks to buy later. If you are really chasing a super strong Gene quickly you can sell it to buy other more important gear like Abyss Dress, PDM, Temporal Ring, EDA, or Malicious Shadow gear.

 

Also really not sure Chemical Glove is the best investment long-term. My Genetic stacks 230 Int because the CC formula is [Base_Damage + {(Cart_Remodeling_Lv × 50) × (INT ÷ 40)}]%. Im pretty sure Temporal Ring + PDM is the way to go.

 

Losing the 18 int from PDM would make my CC Int multiplier something like 5.25 instead of 5.75. So if I do the 90% CC damage I gain from Midas times the 5.75 from keeping PDM Its 10.92, whereas 105% from adding 15% from Chemical Glove times the lower base damage mod of 5.25, is only 10.76. So the effect of the gained % damage vs the loss of base damage to multiply off of ends up being either a wash or too close to give up all the other stats PDM gives you like Str and Dex. I know Chem Glove gives 75 Equip attack, 10% HP and increased potting efficiency as well... So you might make up for the lost int and lost strength in terms of damage, but again its at the cost of Cast time. Which is great with Cylinder but not great with Midas. I don't view the HP% and potting efficiency as that big of a plus because you should be leeching back most of your HP via EDA / Malicious Shadow / Thanatos.

 

For earning Zeny you will probably have the best luck doing Endless Tower, Faceworm Queen, Horror Toy Factory, and Bijou. Snake skins sell for 5-7m each and you get 6 for completing the whole instance, 4 for completing the easiest parts. I am lazy to vend and have 200 assorted skins filling my carts right now. Genetic is a big investment... that's why I have 10 of them to get the most value out of the gear. If you actually want to break even on gear you need to use it a lot and complete a ton of instances. For example, you are never going to pay for an Abyss Dress if the only time you use it is once a day farming OGH. But the more volume and utility you can find for something the quicker you break even.

PS: You can easily re-enchant your FAW using the valkyrie in Eden Kitchen. You don't neeeeed to get perfect enchants but its really cheap to reset and try again. And you get to pick what kind of enchant you want to try for.

I like to say that my main is my AB but she really doesn't have much zeny earning potential solo so my main is actually my Gene since I play that most often (i have 2 gene's right now). I might keep the KBC for my Gene after all. Now's not the best time to sell it anyways and I'm not in a super rush to get the best gears. I'll probably put in a Temp ring when I can afford one. I'll save the PDM for last since I'm currently using the Cylinder. The Old Midas will probably take me while anyway.  I hadn't even considered getting a EDA for some reason, but it looks like it would be a pretty good investment in the long run.

 

I need a few more levels before I can try the Faceworm and Horror Toy factory instances. I tried ET solo, but I couldn't get past floor 60(Egnigem Cenia). I'll probably need to find a party or to stop at floor 50 until I have better gear. I've started to do the Royal Banquet quests on a couple of my characters. Hopefully that will pay out well next month. I might actually make another Gene for more earning potential.

 

Thanks for the info about the FAW! I hadn't considered resetting it. I'll probably do that later today.

2) What card should go into my +9 EDA for CC levelling? My current Armor is Ebone Armor.

3) What card should go into my +9 FAW (EA8)? Menblatt or Raydric? I have +9 Immune HBP as well. Was hoping to buy Deviling garment (FAW or Etran?)

4) Beside Temp Dex RM, what other shoes I can use (currently using Variant shoes).

Budget wise I should be able to splurge a little on shoes and armor (outside of God items and MVP related equips)

1. You want the boots for the combo with the Temporal Ring which gives 40 Int. If you do want RM to proc for the huge damage boost you can do Demonic Fire or to get basically 100% chance of it to proc do Thorn Wall then Demonic Fire the TW. No idea on price lately.

2. Usually a safe bet is a Bathory card but there are many which can help. Other common defensive ones are Marc/Pasana.

3. Personally I go with Heroic Backpack over FAW for the Greed but if you have a tank and won't be hit by anything then Menblatt. If you're tanking use Raydric and if tanking MVPs then Deviling. So in your case just stick with your +9 Immune HBP.

4. Other good cheap shoe can be Grey Wing Boots but it's very difficult to beat the 40 Int combo with Temp Ring.

Want to chip in about 2x Chem Glove. Even though 2x Chem Glove might not be the best damage, I like using it a lot when I first started out leveling/instancing my gene, it boost white potion healing by a lot that I could spam pots without any care of the cost. Which also allow me to face tank the mob and boss instead of clumsily kiting around with my laggy internet. But that just me.

 

For end game I agree that PDM+Temp Ring is the way to go. After all when you one shot/ending the mob/boss quickly, i guess healing wont matter much.
