Pretty quick quest, another instance farming one for those who liked Ferus Faire's instance.

Step 1:

Head to /navi comodo 256/127 and speak to Penny

Talk to her a 2nd time and help them get the very specific 42,069 zeny for their trip

Speak to her a 3rd time and get warped to an event version of the fur seals map.

 

Step 2:

Speak to the kids on the island you have just landed on

While they fix the ship, head down into the building below you, inside there is a Lone Poring, talk to him and agree to help.

 

Step 3:

Head back outside and speak to the kids about what you found.

Speak to them again and set sail to ocean cavern

You get warped to a map like abyss lake

 

Step 4: Find Poring Guardians

Ms. Marin is at /navi odun19 237/56

Dr. Drops /navi odun19 50/190

Popo the Kid is at /navi odun19 140/250

After finding all 3 go above popo the kid into the portal to go back to poring island

 

Step 5:

Go inside and tell the lone poring you found the guardians, then head back outside

 

Step 6:

Go left to the little camp spot with the porings around it and talk to lone poring again. He reveals himself as poring man, speak to him again in order to help the porings.

 

Step 7:

Note: all of these materials can be gathered in the ocean cave you were just in

He needs 20 heart of mermaid the rebuild the marin supply room

He needs 20 Gills to rebuild the drops infirmary

He needs 10 Horrendous Hair to build the Popo Cantina

They will begin to rebuild their island once you give them all the materials.

 

Step 8:

Speak to him again to start the instance to fight the witch.

 

Step 9:

The instance is a small map that copies the waiting room from poring wars, head down to the deviling and it will summon it's creation, the "Megaring"

You can fight this with a party and upon it's defeat a treasure box will spawn and reward each member with 100 Coins.

There is a 6 hour cooldown on this part

Notes: it appears to not be boss protocol so scar of tarou and etc method should work just like in Ferus Faire.

Some skill he casts: Meteor Storm, Lord of Vermillion, Break Armor, Break Weapon, Shield Reflect, Dragon Fear, Power Up.

 

Rewards:

Inside the hut you can talk to ol Jacques Peco to turn in your coins.

BMX3 Buff - 50 tokens

HE Bubble - 50 tokens

25 Condensed White Potions - 50 tokens

Random Shadow Jewelry - 300 tokens

Random Shadow Footgear - 300 tokens

Random Shadow Shield - 300 tokens

Random Shadow Weapon - 500 tokens

Random Shadow Armor - 500 tokens

Adventurer's Towel - 1000 tokens

 

Bonus: The R.N. Geezus NPC from april fools is back so you can trade jellopy to some random items/buffs again

the Witch summon that Megaring and killed my poor mech several times

 

edit: Megaring is fire element and do lots of fire skills and other skills also he have tons of HP xD

Just an FYI, seems like it might be bugged for now, after running it with a party the reward only showed up for me(leader) and not the rest of the party.

any other rewards?? just a recycle of previous events now.

 

i guess it was good before, but now just a different sprite of the same mob and same system.

 

and apparently, the same bug happens at the start of the event every time.

Probably best not to mention how much hp the bosses have this time or players will get scared again~

hahaha, since we already know it's not boss protocol, there are a ton of ways to deal with it (especially status effects) without needing high DPS, so there really isn't a need to be scared of high HP.

 

My only gripe with this event is still the rewards though. I love all these instance events but its not really enticing enough for me to keep replaying after getting it cleared once. *unless there are new shadow gears here that i don't already have*

I miss events having new hats each time tbh, used to be my motivation to do them was like "ooh new hat" and then sometimes they were also useful, like Rudolf hairband, etc. The free bmx3/HEBG/shadow gears are nice, but i don't think i need more shadow gears, lol.

Maybe they could combine the old costume model with the new instance model by just adding in new costumes as rewards for also 1000-1500 coins each. The old ones with costumes were nice but they were one-off. The current one is much more replayable but now their rewards have been repeating too many times.

 

Oh, and having these new costume come with effects during event period could be awesome too.

This was in the patch file. Chances are it was going to given as a reward for completing the quest or maybe via the achievement system depending on how the previous event reward worked. It carries no file name as of yet but Divine Pride lists it as C. Drooping Gray Kitty. Camp will probably work it out tomorrow.

We already have that costume, if it is supposed to be a reward, bleh. But it could also be a fix if the current one was broken somehow. *shrug*

Well, costumes don't have to be the only rewards they can give out.

They could try "Guarantee to +14 for 1 equipment" reward which can be done by making use of GM Magic. But it'll need to be very expensive of course

Quest is fixed to give everyone reward, also looks like the coin reward was upped to 100, Not sure if temporary or permanent increase.

I just had a problem with the quest, after killing the megaring the treasure box came up but I was not able to get the reward and the portal to leave the room did not appear.
someone went through the same?

Did you kill it with burning/leech end or a status that doesn't give you killcount? Sounds like that's what you did, since it wouldn't proceed with the quest if it doesn't get you killcount.
