My blue bar is forever writing updates, 7 mins straight. Cant even select a character..

Screenshot? If its downloading older patches, close the patcher. Don't let it continue.

I have closed it and waited 2 mins in-between 5 different times now. This time I am going to let it finish and see if that works. Its on year 2018 now....jeez

If you let it finish, there is a high chance that the game will get corrupted. You do realize that if you recently patched successfully then downloading much older patches will only lead to sprite and other errors. If you do let it finish and run into issues, check #3 under this topic.
