I remember before pressing alt+q pulls up the equipment window along with the status window(alt+a). can I still do that?
how to merge status window with equipment window.

Equip Window and Status Window are now separate, this was changed in an update this year.

You could use AutoHotKey or keyboard/mouse macro to have Alt+Q do Alt+Q/A simultaneously.
