This is a thread for us sad lads to lament the loss of fun builds/skills that just don't work anymore, whether cuz renewal or gear or whatever else.

 

RIP Fire Pillar -- . this used to be one of the most fun builds and a very atypical playstyle for wizards. Now it's gone, never to return. Would it be that I could light a funeral pyre for your loss, but alas the flames would not burn so bright cuz nerfed lul. 

 

RIP AFKemisting -- I'm not sure if I'm actually sad at your loss but I sure could do with some easy to loot stuff in ROT right now.

 

RIP Grand Cross -- why the hell wont gravity fix your stupid hit detection jesus christ what to heck man. 

 

RIP Elemental Sword chaining via scrolls/other bolt sources -- you were made to be with the lunar rainbow and CD in mouth, but alas, you were killed before your soulmates were conceived. Born too soon for perfect unity, born too late for posterity, born just in time to be stuck on pservers that haven't fixed that bug yet. 

 

RIP Reflect Damage not having a damage cap -- freedom ain't free, and the reflection of damage has to be fed with the blood of your finger recasting it every 3 seconds. 

 

Bonus:

 

RIP Shadow Chaser earthquake meta -- you were too beautiful for this ugly cruel world.

WoE is still lively here despite it only has 300-ish people online in those times and the OCPs and stuff when killed by 1 hit and still enjoyable. :heh:

 

Also Thor has less people because of the racial/discrimination in the server by none other than the mentality of some Chaos players spreading to others, both in-game and here in forums. Not Classic, not ReStart, not even Transcendence, but only Chaos players.

 

Thor opens: "Hurdur... Their items are OP! Pink Baloon ASPD+1 OP! Jinn Marin INT DEX + 1 and ATK MATK + 5 OP! Huhuhu..."

 

OCP Arrives that make the "so-called" Thor OP items obsolete: "Harharhar! You have only 200 players."

Despite the damage being good when the Skill Re-balance arrives, the hitbox is still not good :wah: Maybe at 2030 like Ash said would be fixed? :heh:

Not a RIP post, but I'm glad people are seeing trap builds as very desirable again.
Even if it's only going to be just for now

That elem sword. Im hoping they remove the nerf considering the new meta. It's just an iro custom. I dont ubderstand why people here are so overeacting to that item. If woe is the concern then just put a cap on it or disable it in WOE

You nerf AFK leveling by making it impossible for characters to stay alive for an indefinite amount of time. Characters being literally immortal is what allows it.

 

There's still plenty of "when hit" effects that possibilitate the same thing, just slower(wich is in turn worse than currently as mobs take longer to repopulate the map)

AFAIK Elemental Sword auto spell has been disabled in IRO.

Elemental Sword auto-spell mechanism is :
Cold Bolt proc Fire Bolt
Fire Bolt proc Lightning Bolt
Lightning Bolt proc Earth Spike

So when its effect proc it will be a chain of 4 elemental bolt level 3 in a row.

However. When dual wielding the sword. The individual bolt proc effect on both swords in both hands. So.
1 Cold Bolt will proc 2 Fire Bolt
2 Fire Bolt will proc 4 Lightning Bolt
4 Lightning Bolt will proc 8 Earth Spike.
Considering each is level 3. So total damage is 4500% Matk.

That's the reason of disabling the sword effects in IRO.

It's normal autocast of the bolts works, the thing is you can't chain them from other sources (like a cold bolt scroll) and they won't proc each other over and over like it used to.

The bolt chain can be manually cast by using Ice Falchion then swap to Elemental Sword while casting Colt Bolt.

Nah, they made it so lame that it follows the same effect of other items which makes it unstackable to other bolt autocast when it should have. The way it was nerfed was so uncreative and useless. They could have atleast compensated it with something.

the nerf is very understandable for the time when it took place, aka pre renewal, when int scaling for matk was much more powerfull, reductions were less avaiable and over 4000% damage instantly didn't existed yet.

Waterball has a higher percentage, but waterball has the constant requirement of needing either a conveniently placed lake in your armpit of the map (good luck with that) or a deluge slave willing to blam hundreds of blue gems for a single target spell. (good luck with that)

It also has a cast time.

 

The 4500% magic damage is powerful, but what makes it really stupid is a high aspd sin procing that damage multiple times every second.

I honestly don't know how it got past play testing in that state, or why it continued on in that state well after it became widely known for so long before getting nerfed.
