After all that time I kinda forgot how the HD Ores works like are they only for level 3-4 weapons? Or they can also be used for level 1-2?

I haven't used those ores in a very long time so, I forgot its use, haha!
EDIT: They comes 1 by 1 so the forger will recognize the total that I have or as only 1? I know there used to be an item stacker NPC around?
