What made the developers charge to bypass EAC is the fact that it forces them to change the configuration after every maintenance. It may be a naive suggestion, but why can't this change be made every day (or maybe every 2 or 3 days)?

Does the server need to be restarted to implement this?

a legit, possible and cheaper to implement? compare to the darker alternative xD

Honestly, at this point, I'd prefer for WP to just drop EAC and use some other anti-cheat tool that's more robust, like PunkBuster or even BattlEye. The latter can be too aggressive at times, but I bet dealing with its false positives would be much easier than constantly trying to hunt down bots manually that EAC doesn't catch.

So far EAC has given us nothing but trouble. It uses too much resource, it blocks some ppls from playing the game with strange error messages, it causes ropd/ragial to die, and etc. I fail to think of any positive impact it can make on renewal. Perhaps its good for a bot infected server like restart, but for renewal botting was never a serious issue.

 

The cost of QoL loss from EAC far exceeds the little benefit it provides. We ask Gravity for useful updates, and they give us shiit. Some things sure never change.

kinda lag with eac (gmt+8 player) i couldnt beat my usual time doing faceworm anymore

@OP It's always been like that so nothing's really changed, except that bc of the added layer ppl can now charge for doing it.

 

On topic, EAC isn't really cripling RO's resources, RO's client already did that, you're simply realizing what i've been complaining about all along. On EAC's behalf, the process itself can be set to low priority, regaining most of the performance it could take from any PC.

Since i resolved my issues, EAC hasn't given me ANY trouble at all, RO has crashed once since but no EAC error; and i've been here since the beta trying to fix it (a problem that existed even before EAC's implementation but was exacerbated by it), which i did, so i can tell you most of the things you're complaining about has NOTHING to do with EAC.

It would be nice if US WP could become independent from Korea in all but game updates. QoL issues are always being held back because of the Asian masters.
