Hello, i want to ask about how DEF Bypass work
If my gears only gave me 20% DEF Bypass on certain monster race
And the monster DEF ± 300, assuming those number equals 30% Damage Reduction from my attacks
First, I understand if i'm supposed to deal 10k damage, the result would be only 7k damage.
Simply put, how does DEF bypass affect my PvM damage?
30% monster defense - 20% DEF Bypass = 10% monster defense left?
So i'm dealing 9k damage instead of 7k (28% damage increase)
OR
30% monster defense - (20% Bypass from 30%)
30% - 6% = 24% monster defense?
So i'm dealing 7.6k damage instead of 7k (9% damage increase)
OR
Forget PvM, since monster DEF is not that great to begin with
Meaning DEF Bypass only suitable for WoE / PvP scenario?
Thanks for the insight

here your best answer
Thanks for the link.. But..
Either i'm really stupid and simply unable to input the correct numbers
Or perhaps those monsters actually have 0 DEF
I can't found the calculation for skills damage
Here's more straightforward question then
With 20% DEF bypass from shadow gear against NCT Big Bells
Will my currently 25k Ignition Break deal more damage? How much?
Thanks

if big bell def reduce your damage by X amount to 25k
25k + ( X * 0.8 ) =

Reduces the target DEF value by that amount
If their DEf is 100, it's 100-20% = 80
If it is 500, it's 500-20% = 400
Do the def reduction calculation with the number result after the bypass has been applied.
Raw Damage * {(4000+DEF)/[4000+(DEF*10)]} = Damage dealt
