Why are WP's servers so laggy?

I used to lag more in the US when i lived there than any other mmo, fps, or even other ragnarok servers.

 

now i live overseas and in general its better than re:start was, and its perfectly fine about 30-40% of the time during non-peak hours. but during peak hours i start suddenly getting 2-3 second wards and freezes, quite consistently for a few hours.

 

for a server supporting only like 2k players in 2020, from a company that makes thousands of dollars every day from purchases, why can't you provide better servers?

 

I play counterstrike from overseas on US servers without as much trouble as this game...seriously, up your game and tone down costume gachas. too obvious that you guys are in it for the money.

I think its EAC. I used to be able to live record my game with Fraps. Now I kind of cant since we've got EAC. Im not sure why lol.  There are some vids I wanna make but just cant since it lagged too much. Though, if I dont record with Fraps, game is very smooth.

It’s been laggy even in US. It’s due to this EAC or they moved the server to different location Brazil or Korea who knows.

Yeah last year got an average of 200 ping, nowadays its 300-ish ping

Makes me wonder if those mudfish/leatrix/wtfast is really needed now

cant take items from attachment, potions dont work then suddenly pop 10 potions at a time, orcs hitting me from 5-7 cells away.

 

3000 people is all this server has and it lags this bad during peak hours. useless company. my high school computer science teacher could run better servers from his basement. good for nothing

players -> 1850

status -> warping 5 cells back and forth and getting hit by melee mobs 6 cells away

 

World of Warcraft:

 

Players -> 5k+

status -> 0 lag

 

yeah...


and lack of any response to any lag thread in the last how many years from WP = they know they use cheap unoptimized servers but dont care

i dont experience any lag though. here in tustin, ca.

 

effects on. aura off.

 

using an old computer too. is it because of that? :heh:

ive had lag issues on 20+ ISPs on at least 5 different machines in 3 different continents. India, US, and Europe. Its not me, and those that don't lag are either really close to the server or in denial. I don't lag to other US servers and can even play counterstrike just fine, with a steady 220 ping at least i can adapt to the lag. with this game its not steady latency, its ping spikes all over particularly during peak hours. i dont see what a traceroute has to do with that.

A traceroute log is crucial in identifying network issues plus providing various important information related to the path of the network connection to destination. Without this log, pinpointing the problematic node or issue would be extremely difficult. When involving technical support departments they will highly likely if not always ask for this piece of information.

BTW the guy complaining on and on about having lag and delay is playing from INDIA. No sane person would expect to have a decent connection when you're like 10.000+ km. away from the server.

Then again, this tracert or any tracert wouldn't be usefull for anything since the main issue comes from the tunnel connection that we're getting via EAC and it's packet tracking for our active connections and programs in memory...

 

EAC is resource heavy and on a non-optimized-20yearsOld code as ragnarok.... well... we all know what happens....

The issue is packet loss on ntt routes, i used to play on iRO from Brazil and would have the same terrible lag, but if i used a US East side VPN i could play without the packet loss lag. If i tried connecting directly to west coast i'd have the same issue.
