well I just got my first 120 recently and as dirt poor as always I decided to did ghost palace for some pocket zeny then I find something strange,so I want to ask old timer  about it

 

Item drop is strange and don't fit monster who drop them(there is one that drop horn and sticky mucus as if copy from Horn drop) ,so I have feeling that sometime ago people spaming steal on every monster for grey shard too much and then Dev just said to our face ""No you won't farm grey shard that easy" and process to add random Item drop on every mob (expect boss and Dulahan I think)

they've had items other than gray shard since forever. Steal is just an avenue of getting more shards per run, but was never a guaranteed shard per attempt.

other than that, even if an item has a 0,01% drop chance, it can appear. Makes steal relatively useful for monsters with low drop chances in general, as it will always get something when it succeeds, but it takes much more tries against low drop items.
