I never had a problem making my names so i guess i was unique. So i doubt even with the server merge I backlashed with any other Phantoms. My little sister also never had any problems. I think i know what you mean by overflow if my account page is anything to go by. I saw an extra account on mine and my little sisters page which had an extra "_i" at the end.

Cool. Looks like they already hooked up your overflow then. If you still can't find any characters you could have further hidden accounts (e.g. with _l _c etc.). But if you just played on Chaos and Sakray (which then merged into Iris I think, hence the _i on your overflow I guess) you'll probably just have your main and the Iris overflow.

I'm sure you'll have trans fairly quickly if you do your research for Renewal. With the introduction of being able to go up to level 150 the EXP curve was changed so non-trans is still considered 'early' on the EXP curve. I'll look you up sometime maybe. Also if you remember their names, your old friends might be on ROPD website, you can hover over their name and see when they were last seen in the game (on the old servers or on the new Ymir).

Although I do admit, i still dont like the existance of Kafra shop.

Microtransactions is pretty much the model for a lot of MMO games (I don't play it but the pay2play WoW also introduced a shop eventually to sell things like in-game mounts etc. which will also be a cash shop thing for RO in future, mounts for all classes), especially free2play which RO will soon follow f2p model even more. You'll be able to login to any accounts for free, though with some limitations unless you subscribe (and subscribing will come with bonuses like extra dungeon maps). Also brand new accounts will have to pay a initial opening fee. But after that free to login. It should hopefully increase population across all servers (but as with all changes no doubt it will come with some drawbacks, I am hoping we don't see a influx of bots on Ymir etc. But at least i can have an alt account without having to pay much if anything now).

My take on Kafra Shop is its OK (inevitable even?) so long as people can still do things in the game without it e.g. Dungeon Teleport Scrolls for shortcutting to a dungeon is fine so long as players (like me, I can't really afford it much) can get to those dungeons without a scroll. No doubt the game changed a lot with it in. But it was always coming I guess someday and has its pros/cons.

Also i have to ask. Do people still AFK at Orc dungeon? It was honestly the only way my little sister could substain a stable income. I made her a Greeder Blacksmith just for orc dungeon back in the day. Her blacksmith is like all agi/vit/INT lol.

No idea on that one sorry. For awhile Orc Dungeon went dead because there were much faster maps to level at. Its possible its seen a revival now with the new EXP penalty so that it became fast EXP at a certain level for players again.

AGI/VIT/INT... You can get a free reset as a returning player. The reset NPC *might* still be there if you want to just pop on briefly to go to the middle of Prontera and find the Mesmeriser below the fountain. Just need to be 0 Weight. If he's still there I reccomend resetting all characters right now as he's being taken out soon if he hasn't already (due to non-returning players using it). If he's been taken out you have to ask the support staff for a free reset and wait.

There's various ways of making zeny now. But the market is still settling in I think (not that the market ever was steady :P ). But there are a few threads around about zeny making or could ask. Also cataloguing your storage and price-checking on Ragial (also double-checking on newer RO databases that it isn't some item you might actually want to use in Renewal).

Basically, Greeder blacksmith were made purely for using Greed to pick up the drops used by AFK Alchemist. You see, when Homunculus were first introduced, it was quickly found that the closed in space of Orc dungeon and the high spawn rates made it a prime place to sit your alchemist there with a Filr or Vlmar and "AFK". using the AI-script, make your homunculus agressive and BAM, FREE EXPERIANCE. Also put Auto Aid potion on and auto Cart revolution and auto Tomahawk/Firebender/Ice falchion. With every other alchemist on the block doing it, this led to alot of loot not being picked up. Blacksmith saw profit in this. In the form of the quest skill Greed. I can show you some screenshots if you want. The point of AFK leveling wasnt for the Speed, it was for the convinience. Even back then, everyone diffenetly agreed it was always faster to do normal leveling.

You run around and spam your Greed hotkey. You can make around 30k per run on the low end and 60k on the high end. All the orc dungeon level 2 cards practically "Crashed" when that happened. The cards were dirt cheap. It also led to less than legal auto feeding programs for homunculus. Another thing was that it was really hard to see who was actually using a feeding program and who was legitly just feeding their homunculus 6-7 times and then go afk for half an hour and then come back and click feed again. The whole point of Agi/Vit/Int was to have the agi/vit to not get killed by Skeletons or bats and to have the Int to recover SP faster to do another greed run.

Some people didnt like it, but i myself actually hoped it would never get patched. This isnt because I wanted an "Easy street" abusive level guide. It only works for Alchemist after all. But because of the loot, it was also a good way for Newbie players to get quick cash. You could walk around the dungeon and click click click click. It may be tiring, but a newbie player could make his first 10k from there. Also, it allowed more money to circulate through the market. Another thing is that since it uses the ai-script and homunculus, it is what i considered "Legal" botting.

The Alchemist got their Chemist rebirths while everyone else around got to profit. I really did see nothing but good in it. And hoped it would never get patched. Another cool thing was that people were honestly looking for other maps to AFK leech. I remember myself going into "Testing" with othe alchemist at a Juno field. It would have worked with the right amount of Alchemist.

The TKM Kasa leeching on the other hand diffenetly caused a few backlash of problems. It was only helping high level people and veterans. It did alot less to help out the community than AFK leveling was.

This actually led to a large debate about which should be considered "Legal". The TKMs argued that Kasa killing actually required work. The Alchemist argued AFKing helped everyone.

I myself saw TKM leeching as the "easy street" to rebirths. With AFK leeching though, its a slow process to get to level 99. It would be faster to just level normally, even killing Migaos and Mantis would have been faster. So i saw AFK leeching as something someone could do if he was pre-occupied with other stuff. Or maybe he/she honestly only logged in just to talk to his RO buddies.

You talking about the first class Skill reset NPC? I believe that NPC only works for base level under 30. Well, i still got alot to read but back then, you had to pay for a stat reset. And it wasnt a full stat reset, it was like 20-30 stat points.

I get what you mean about always other ways to make zeny. My stance on that was that AFK looting was accessible to everyone. while other methods have a cut off point depending on what characters and levels you have. Well, my little sister has a Level 99 vlamir lol. Her Alchemist is only level 97 though haha.

Oh, I knew about Orc Dungeon AFKemists and the free-for-all loot (and profits thereof). Just didn't know that some made Blacksmiths builds with 0 STR and loaded with INT back then specially to spam Greed. Thats interesting. Some also did AFKemist at Clocks.

But yeah the AFKemist/Orc Dungeon thing died for awhile of natural causes due to other maps coming out I think (some moved to Moscovia, Metalings or other maps). Also with the population lowering, as I think it gets very mobby to dangerous levels to AFK in Orc Dungeon if there isn't lots of others keeping spawn down. However that was quite awhile back. In Renewal it may have a few people again. But seems a majority have moved to Ant Hell:

My pure forger smith was pretty jealous when Homunculus was added for pure potters (not that it matters now, forging has been slowly dieing for a long time sadly).

Thanks for that link, it clarified some things that the databases and wiki wouldnt have told me.

I'm a bit sad. I would like to bring back the Alchemist population back to Orc Dungeon.

I mean seriously........Ant eggs? There are so many things wrong with that. I'll have to see it for myself but as long as its like this.

Then I'll be cool with it. If not, maybe i should start a campaign lol.

I dont have a screen shot, but my little sister has 95% guild devotion to my guild. Which is the only reason she didnt reach level 99. She leeched like.....50 million experiance or around there. Pudding has been at level 99 though forever. I myself have a Filir and Lif.

To be honest, My little sister only has 3 actual characters she plays. The other 3 were ones i made for myself and guildmembers as Slaving characters. Pretty much forging classes or Buffing classes lol. Me and my stister were such big pet hoarders though lol. We loved pets, even if they didnt do anything.

I remember nearly going crazy when pets first started talking. And then later on they gave the pets more talking dialogue. I've had my Lunatic since 2-2 classes. Man i love the little bunny.

P.S.
Is hugel Bingo still a joke? Me and a bunch of freinds tried to play Bingo. Out of 10 games, we only won like 3 times. The other 7 times, it never registered anyone saying "BINGO!" Hugel medals were supposed to be an awesome shortcut to leveling. But there was either Bingo or the races.

Maybe you already know, but pets are actually useful now and give bonuses. I thought pets were cute but not worth the time. Now I have a Petite though for the extra ASPD.

Dunno but haven't heard of people rushing there so far. I remember trying the bingo and finding it a bit confusing. The monster races were kinda fun for 5 minutes. Its a shame they didn't come up with some more creative mini-games.

My guess on your Hugel bingo question is...yes. All that town is missing is a tumbleweed.

Edit: got zipped

Haha ya, i just happened to read about that last night. Your right though, cute pets back then were just a big money sink. Especially for the more "Expensive" pets that ate things like honey or stems. Its one thing to buy Zargon or Pet food, but it another thing to hunt down the food. And Zelotus eats Immortal hearts....damn!!!!!!!!!!!! she was also the only one i didnt get. I had to sell my soul to get Alice though.

Dang, i guess the only reason people go there is to Class change now? I was hoping they would fix that Bingo problem. Me and my friends really tried to make it work back then.

According to my freinds when i missed the summer event(i came back righter after the event, my luck right?) the town was flooded when the Hugel Medal event came in. All you had to do was repeat what an npc said word for word and you get medals. It honestly took like maybe an hour before someone created illegal copy-paste scripts to spam the NPC with. Then Gravity immediatly had to patch that with an emergency maitenance.

Races were a crap shoot, but me and some ally guilds always found them fun as a nice get together.

"GO bapho jr.!!! c'mon!!! daddy needs a new slotted sword!!"

We honestly bet real zeny with each other.

I never noticed any major bugs when I went to play Bingo once with guildies but then we only did a few rounds. So I guess only way is to give it a go sometime to see if kRO fixed it in Renewal (assuming kRO players actually use Hugel more than iRO players).

Yeah I missed that too. Though I don't think I'd of used it all the way. Back in the first ever Titans Turn-In event that was mega exp I only did enough to finish off a few of the 97~99 non-trans levels for transing. Then didn't go back to Titans (used a different character to party guilds there instead for fun). Mostly because I was looking forward to trying trans at various maps/monsters. But it was possible to go ~99 non-trans then 99 trans easily there in a week or less. Everyone plays the game differently really depending on aim.

EDIT: Oh btw nowadays you can use a headgear called a Spare Card (only available in the past though they pop up for sale in Market every so often) which drops Blank Cards at low chance and then trade those cards at the Kafra HQ in AldeBaran top left for goodies. Which include a medals (4 cards = 1 medal). Blank Cards are also vendable to other players.

Ya, call me self rightious, but i hate the idea of getting an "All you can eat" exp buffet for all my characters in the span of 24 hours. It kinda defeats the whole purpose of trying to make a super cool character.

For instance, back then i honestly had my sage holding "Vertical Fire wall" classes for alot of newbie players. And for the ambitious, Diagnol firewalling. That hugel event really messed up the population of rebirth classes. I saw some screenshots of a base level 7 job level 43 High Acolyte. Now thats just wrong i tell you. I came in right after the event but i immediatly saw the effects it had on all the people that abused it. There was a bunch of 99/70s running around who didnt even know how to play their own classes.

Now i wont claim to be a saint, and neither would my freinds. Most of them who did have intregity only abused the medals for their forger classes and maybe a secondary or 3rdary character. But none of them actually used it on their mains. If i had been around, i probably would have used it for my forgers as well. And maybe a for fun Pure Battle Preist.

A friend of mine made a Level 1 Priest I think with medals for a laugh.

Hey battle priests are serious business! :P Battle Priest has been my main since I switched to the 'new' Loki server. Before Priests were implemented I was a Battle Aco on Chaos (very common back then in Payon Dungeon, there were even Puncholytes). When Priests were added in the game I did Full Support for awhile but got bored (when friends weren't on due to timezones). Also when Monks were implemented I tried Combo Monk for awhile but got bored. :P The BP thread is up to 200 pages so far! (note: the guide in first post may be outdated in Renewal)
http://forums.irowik...?t=145&page=200

Plus the famous Doddler's first character was a Battle Priest and loves 'em. :) Videos from him this week:

Heaven almighty.......That preist could eat my Assassin and Sage and still have room for a little novice snack.

I have to admit, i never really seen a decked out battle preist even back in the old day. Maybe i was always in the wrong place at the wrong time because other than none of my freinds having a battle preist, i never randomly ran into one either. I always ran into Aco's or preist in the middle of refining their battle preist.

I already considered Morroc blowing up to be on the level of WoW Cataclysm. I never expected a "Renewel" lol. Forget blowing up city, lets blow up the entire planet.

You must do PVP, because from a PVM standpoint WoW has improved with Cataclysm.
