I have never used or bought anything from her. My guild had its own potter.

 

And it's not a complaint, she said she quit because of the rumors.
You know it's even more suspicious when you abandon your ship before it sinks (or in this case, quit before getting caught).

If you guys are so certain she was botting why didn't report back then?

As for me I only had suspicions, it's kinda hard to prove since I wasn't 100% sure.

Also, it can be easy to get away when you're friend with the GM team. iRO had its fair share of GM corruption throughout the time.

 

Anyway... it's all in the past now.

word on the street is that with EAC making the ragial/ropd bots to stop working that removed some of the last few reasons Ren had to still log into RO, and ultimately lead to quit it altogether

No one is mad at her for what she did. It helped a lot  of people out just like the buff bots helped people out. No one is going to report a bot that helps the server.

Either way its not possible to do it by hand competitively. You need good setup, time, and the right set of external tools to do them. Also you need to have a good supply chain going as well.

Expensive ranked slim isnt a bad thing. It keeps people in business. New players and WSS bots need to make zeny too.

Ren has posted what she uses to know when the server comes up/down.
Friends of mine use it and are able to login within 5 seconds of server coming back online.

reminder that we could have had ragial working through EAC because it clearly didn't stop all botting, it was just that Ren took enough abuse that it was a "why bother" kind of situation.

Renouille, I'll never forget the amount of time work and effort you put in to all of your projects that made iRO more enjoyable for <99% of the players, even though a chunk of them that were directly benefiting were total jerkwards to you. I remember when ROPD first came out there were some people so upset and salty in Pront about 'muh freedoms' ...just know that these people are probably ignorant anti-maskers and the like nowadays lmao. Anyway take care and hope you're gaming somewhere where people treat ya better.

Ren slim represents an establishment with a privilege that makes a leveling field uneven. Theres also not much transparency behind the whole ragial, ropd thing. Warpportal doesnt support or take any accountability for it, but somehow allow it to operate using a banned software without giving any thorough information to the userbase. ROPD also defaults to no privacy which is problematic for those who doesn’t know about its existence. Ragial was also used to take advantage of a lot of new players where the shopping board is an in-game item and provides a better even playing field.

I dont think people are upset about Ren as a person, but they are upset about the behind the scene establishment, elevated privileges, and the lack of transparency. I know I and a lot of other new players did when we first joined.

I don't think Ren slims represent a privilege or makes leveling uneven. Expensive ranked slims is a good thing only to the few that are selling them.

 

I also disagree on your statement about transparency because all accounts, characters and items are Gravity's property, not ours, and I don't know if it's true but someone said in the past there was GM involvement in ropd.

 

I also don't see how ragial can be used to take advantage of new players, on the contrary I've seen a lot of players complaining on the forums that shopping boards are difficult to use

Not only difficult to use, but easy to exploit as well. Not that its inclusion is a bad thing per se, in fact it was a nice addition, but having another option (like ragial was, from what I saw) would be great.

Entirely your opinion, but I am just pointing it out why there are a lot of hate, even a lot of discord communities I've been in outside iRO Wiki doesn't really put Ren in a good light at all. 

 

Ren's involvement with ragial and the amount of slims that were being made in a very short period of time raised a lot of suspicion. Few years ago people were trying to compete with this whole slim business and when they see the amount of points Ren is making right after reset and how Ren is involved with the GM team. It felt like it was essentially a government sanctioned monopoly with a possibility of foul plays.

 

Hence, why Ren gets so many haters. The fact that you don't even know the extent of the GM or WP involvement proved the point I was trying to make. It's always "words on the street". Everybody was left in the dark and it's an easy assumption to make that there were probably behind the scene shenanigans. 

 

Ragial was an integral part of the game, but it should have been part of the official WP from the start. This is a lose-lose situation for Ren in my opinion, so quitting is in fact the right decision.
