The card description says "Reduces damage received from ranged attacks by 35%". Does that basically mean 35% off all attacks from monsters? I've really been struggling to understand this "ranged attacks".
What kind of damage does Horn Card really protect you from?

damage types are melee, ranged and magic
horn protects from ranged ones. Monsters with very far autoattack distance will have it coded as ranged, other than that it is skill specific what type of damage it does.
