Hi, everyone.
I've been considering playing RO again after almost 5 years. I created account on Chaos renewal server, but have a question about transcendence.
As i love playing 3rd job classes my choice of server seemed obvious...
What's the main difference between Renewal and Transcendence? Does Transcendence have 3rd jobs (or at least will it have them in the future)?

It's not on kROz yet, but RT isn't anything like kROz anyway, so...

There are always people complaining about everything. so its not the point.
The point is if there is no hope for 3rd jobs on transcendence I'll stick with renewal

it's not a modified version of RO zero
It's Chaos modded to mimic some features that zero has, wherever possible.
But it's just Chaos.

I've played for a couple of months on a server with transcendence features. it's nice, in general I liked it, but.... there are no 3rds so far. and this was the main reason I've started to look for a renewal server.
so Chaos it is (for now at least). gear prices freak me out ofc, but I love seeing 3rg job chars, especially with alternative sprites!

As an ex Transcendence player I am also waiting for 3rd jobs or a new official server to pop up. I've barely touch 3rd jobs and I really want to try it on a fresh enviroment. I've played a little bit of Chaos but the server feels too dated and there is so much content I have never tried that it feels overwhelming at times.
My ideal server would be something that starts with 3rd jobs (or trans classes but with a clear roadmap to 3rd jobs) and goes gradually through the content for the ones like me that missed it.

As it is. unless u already had a friend playing in thor, ready to supply you with equipments
else. never, consider thor.
due to the low player base as well as limited equipment circulating the market.
it is very difficult for any new player to start off in thor.
you need to spend a lot more time, trying to get people to sell you gears you need.
whereas chaos is a 1min, click shopping board, buy. equip.

Sad reality..
But if you are that player who enjoys PVM I think Thor is a much better choice, given that the population is very low, you can solo MVP maps most of the time.
It's a little bit complicated at first, but if you have the money to invest on OCP's, costume boxes and premium scrolls, you can pretty much cope up in no time.

there is no reason to attain mvp cards. when most of the player in the server doesn't even have zeny to transact those cards
majority people will just SCRAPE through their whole storage list to get a series of item to offer as trade.
plus there is also limited quantity of Abyssdress/icefall/nature available for sale/trade in the game.
i personally perceive those item as a "must have item" in IRO.
^ the value of the item in thor today. is appox 45x 10days VIP (250KP x 45 = 11,250KP)
^ whereas in chaos today. is appox 22x 10days VIP (250KP x 22 = 5,500KP)
other cases of valuable items could only be attainable via the blackmarket.

It seemed to me overwhelming too, but: if you take baby steps and try one thing after another it starts to feel absolutely fine! I'm in 2 steps away from becoming a GX. And i plan to try some new content (new for me) which is available from lvl 100. and market prices do not scare me anymore.
also i've met ppl who helped me with initial EQ and who can explain me features of the game which i didnt know from my previous server.
What about your ideal server... Honestly, i believe it might not work in real life. 6 months ago i've started to play on a new official server with transcendence-like mechanic. they promised 3rd jobs and ppl trusted. but there is too many updates to go to reach current chaos episode. majority of Ragnarok players are ppl in their 30s and 40s. they dont have much time to wait. a lot of players left that server and so did i (usually i'm a very loyal player...) i've started chaos and i regret just one thing - i should have started earlier and haven't waste time on non-viable server.

it's ok, it is never too late to start again! what matters most is you had a good time and it made you happy!
