Why do i have to go through literally pages and pages and pages of guides doing quests no one cares about even slightly, with mounds of useless crap dialogue that everyone just mashes enter through, to get to a dungeon that would be otherwise fun...you put out something fun, and have hid it behind hours of useless dialogue that NO ONE WANTS TO DO...this is gear game no one cares about the half baked storyline. Someone please explain this to get the Illusion Quest you have to Terra Gloria, to get that nonsense you have to do the banquet which is terrible...this isn't cinematic this is walls and walls of text that no one wants to read OPEN THE DAMN DUNGEONS no lame walk around for 8-12 hours that's so dumb

It sure doesn't stop people from doing it. I see many OS weapons, mods and such around.

I'm sure people are enjoying it :thumb2:

It isn't the dungeon i question people enjoy, i am sure its awesome.  What i question is that there is no better access to do the dungeon, you are forced to go back and do 16.1,16.2 and then finally do all of 17.1 Storylines before you can even access it...dungeons shouldn't be stuck behind infinite walls of text. Not only this but the quest appears to be bugged, I finished 16.1 talked to Spica Nerius  and Nihil M. Heine is not in the room.

i actually love the lore of The Royal Banquet , the wall of text you are talking about is part of RO since day 1 if you don't like it you should quit.

+1 to Royal Banquet lore.

And I think when I first returned 2-ish years ago, the introduction of multiple NPC visual novel-esque character artwork was a pleasant and welcome surprise! I also like the idea of the Secret Wings rebellion in the hidden café, etc., of the following update as well.

It’s vertical progression. It’s always been that way since the great hack of ‘02 or something. It’s normal. Hey, I don’t like the idea of a guy with obvious daddy issues being king as much as the next player, but what can you do? Episode updates are slow and the producer, the actual one, has been busy with his own thing since Gravity acquired the IP of the manhwa.

Edit: I actually appreciate the irony that the name of the next king literally means “miserable nothing” given how this is a game about the end of the world. It’s definitely a kicker to the guy’s balls after a lifetime of daddy issues. :p_devil:

Still surprised when people talk about RO lore. I've never met a player who was into it. I agree, RO is more of a gear game. I think the translations and localization of quests gets so screwed up along the way its hard to focus on the story with all the grammar, punctuation, and spelling issues. Plus when I am doing a quest I am doing it for the purpose of the reward. Which means that in my excitement to access new areas I pay 0 attention to what the dialogue boxes are actually saying, making it a text bubble clicking experience.

Pretty much all games gate content behind some kind of introductory entry quest. I just hate doing the same quest 20 times for alt classes. If dungeons & maps required a misc. key in your inventory that was storable I wouldn't mind getting an entry quest out of the way nearly as much. Like Lucifer's Lament in The Sign to access Geffenia for example. Or the Holy / Holier threads for Ayo Dungeon

Yeah, I've been playing on and off since the early 2000s with some interest in the lore (more so when I bought the manga/manhwa way back when) but it wasn't until the Royal Banquet that I cared to see what the story was trying to tell. I then went back and just kinda read up on most of it wherever possible because, as you said, the translations/localizations/typos make it hard to focus in the actual game. It's probably a vague interest since I have so heavily invested in this game over the years, haha.

I agree to your suggestion regarding some kind of key like some of those quests - making an account bound item would just save the player real life time. As long as they function better than, say, the Mora pendant where you are still limited to people talking to you without doing the Hazy Forest questline first. Or, even better, maybe the NPC just asks if you'd like to participate in the entry portion of these quests and you can simply click "no", like a video game tutorial scene. You might miss out on some EXP or items but generally, those are rarely worth it anyway.

8 to 12 hours to make Banquet -> Terra Gloria -> Illusion? sorry but you're wrong, yesterday with a friend we did the three quests and it took us 4 hours at the most, and it could be less with prepared warps to reduce the walk time

The problem is that these quests don't always function like they should like right now stuck at 16.2 because the npc that should appear in your room isn't there at all.  So because they gate things behind quests it should be vital that the quests function but since that's not the case at all the quests should be skippable to some extent like letting people start at 17.1.  I say people should have the choice, if they do the quests great give them the xp/jxp and whatever item rewards.  Heck give them a key for the account so they don't have to do it on all their characters individually, and if they don't wanna read or mash through hours of nonsensical often poorly spelt text then let them skip it.

For anyone interested in deep diving into the story, there’s a wiki for that, maintained by their chief lore keeper who did, like, 35% of an okay job.

For anyone experiencing bugs, go post on their bug thread and submit a ticket. They’ll get to it eventually.
